- A Percival video featuring many situational combos off of specific starters, with a focus on staying frame advantage positive or minorly negative but safe while charging +3/+5/+9 stocks. Any time you see the combo end with a close 5L that hits on frame 7, it's a safe jab that will beat all traditional attack-based reversals including ultimates. This also applies to any 236U meaty setups that you see in this video; those setups into 236U are all also safe from attack-based ultimate reversals.
All 214U setups are auto-timed for executing them as soon as possible. The exception is the setup at 8:46 after the 22H. You have to delay the 2nd close 5L jab by 1 frame so that the 214U is able to hit meaty properly, otherwise it will whiff.
The meaty 22H setups are, of course, unsafe to anyone who has a reversal DP available and is able to time it to come out frame 1. But when they aren't able to use their reversal DP due to cooldown or lack of meter, it can be a practical setup.
214U non-clean hit/hitting with 0 stocks actually has more frame advantage than clean hit 214U with 1 or more stocks, so keep that in mind when pursuing stocks + frame advantage after a 214U clean hit vs non-clean hit/0 stock.
