Gorgeous music and video, Tim! 👌🥰👍 You are probably aware that Vermona has released the MEX3 MIDI expander for the meloDICER? I got mine installed yesterday and I think you'll really love it! (although getting the meloDICER firmware updated was a pain) I'm just starting to do some experiments with it but so far so good! 🙌
WOW! What a beautiful track! I find my self really studying the layout of the modules in the cases in Tim's videos, I would love to see a video from Tim explaining how he determines what modules will go where, the purpose that a set of modules in a particular case will serve. I notice that there is a small case with the Behringer system 100 model 305 with sequencers in the same case. It seems like that is like a utility rack that he rolls up to other modular cases. Anyway, I would love to hear some commentary on how he sets purpose to the racks of modules he has set-up.
Nice one Tim,i use the Melodicer in the same way providing inspiration to the Mutable Instruments Rings, some fantastic ambient sounds to be had ,very relaxing ,Merry Christmas to all .
Great content Tim. I like the way you’ve demonstrated how the different modules interact. I’m looking forward to more Eurorack content but I can feel my wallet emptying 😂
This sounds gorgeous and that pluck harpy pluck sound is very pleasing to the ear. Which fx was used , let’s not underestimate the power of good fx here. Feel like recreating something similar with my John Bowen Solaris now and my Torso Sequencer
At 8:00 of your footage in the background it reads "LUSH". Did you put it there in post, or is that really on those windows? As usual, beautiful tones. Thanks for sharing.
Well Tim, I do believe your starting to kindle an interest in modular in me! And I enjoyed you video as usual! I'm going to start some research on beginning modular and I'll give it a go! Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas.
You can start learning the fundamentals of modular instruments with VCV Rack for free, and lots of people have created quality content around it. I recommend this to anyone who's interested in modular prior to committing with hardwire, highly recommend!
Im really interested in getting a stochastic sequencer like the Melodicer. Tim, have you checked out the SIG+? Does similar things but it’s smaller than Melodicer but with four channels (and more function). Seems like the obvious choice but it’s not as hands on as Melodicer. Any thoughts before I take the plunge please? Great video!
I'm thinking about getting a Melodicer for a while now but I'm lacking rack space, would need to throw some stuff out (or....buying another case....not a good idea).
Indeed, great content and very inspiring as well. Your rack setup sounds wonderful! The only thing that was a bit off was the tuning of your kick drum. It sounded between a minor seventh and a major seventh in relation to your root note. Many notes would have been fine but for me this was way to far off. Other than that, lovely video! I am a fan 😉
Very well. It just needs a sound source to "play" just like a sequencer. So it can feed a gate to your envelope generator and a CV to your oscillator. I use it with my Behringer modules a lot.
@@TimShoebridge Thanks for your answer Tim. My starting modules are 110, 140 and 182. You probably remember your video. Maybe I should also mention that I am an absolute beginner (and at my age 66). So I'm very grateful for every tip. By the way, my English is from Google. 😁
Modular synthesis would bankrupt me in six months and turn all of my output into Eno'eque ambient instrumentals. I guess I could call the project Sonicus Penniless.
Hmm.. must try this - time to look at Eurorack module prices! Keep up the good work - Merry Xmas!🙂🙃😆
All the best to you and your family Tim, hope all is well.
Nice Work .... got last week my meloDICER. Love this modul ...
Tempting me into the dark arts of modular.... The UnPerson has some great videos with RINGS on his channel , gorgeous sounds....
N👌ICE ☺♥♪
Really stunning. I'm getting more and more inspired to start with a modular system. Thank you for the atmospheric video!!
Beautiful, happy Christmas Tim

Somehow I imagined the exact breakbeat you faded in before hearing it or knowing that it was coming😄 Inspiring use of both sound generators👍
Weird me too, as little different but the same modality and shuffle

I have Plaits and Marbles, Rings is next on my list of Mutable Instrument modules. Fantastic variations form the Melodicers. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, Tim!
Happy Christmas Tim .

Sparkles! ❄️⛄🎄❄️
Very nice indeed!

It's really on the windows. It's the name of a store that closed down.

@@mtfkno Thanks for the information. It will be a brand new adventure that I think I'll enjoy.

Of the modules you were using, what are the prices of each? I guess I could look it up, but I thought I'd give you something else to do.. Good video.

sounds nice
Rings was the reason i got into eurorack. 20 grand later still going strong😅
The Doepfer Modular should also be for you Tim.
Tim, allow me to ask a question. How well would the melodicer work with the Behringer system 100?
Very well. It just needs a sound source to "play" just like a sequencer. So it can feed a gate to your envelope generator and a CV to your oscillator. I use it with my Behringer modules a lot.

isn't the Stylus long overdue for a massive overhaul?
Everything from spectrasonics is!
I've set aside $100000 for my Eurorack system. Is that enough?

Tim, I think it’s time to invest in a drum machine. ❤
Haha! I have a few but have never really got into them. I finger drum a lot on my keyboard too but that's something I rarely own up to! 😂
Tasty
I really cant stand Rings, such earpiercing annoying digitial sound (thats why people use so much reverb on it).... but I'm probably minority
this is kinda crazy but I just bought Rings off someone on reverb literally this morning.
