Why is he not awarded a posthumous Bharat Ratan at least now, when in life he was insulted with padmashri awards after many lesser artists had already been given them before he was ever considered. No wonder he rejected them. Shame on us Indians for having ignored his real place due to political communal and ethnic jealousies and rivalries. But TH-cam now shows us his fans and lovers of his music come from all backgrounds and countries. Listen carefully to his gifted singing voice especially towards the end at 28.30. What sweetness, pathos, and classical dexterity. Long live his music for the world to enjoy.

Every single recording of his just reiterates the same. No award is enough to honour a powerhouse of tradition and skill like him.
