Amazing editing work.
Cooler left his family for a reason. He was too cool a villain for them to handle.
Cooler has FOUR forms. Frieza also has FOUR forms. A lot of people mistake Cooler's natural form as his fourth because of its resemblance to Frieza's fourth form, but he clearly explains to Goku that it's only his THIRD.
The time setting of Cooler's debut during Cooler's Revenge is after the return of Goku when he came back from Planet Yardrat. Remember, Goku defeated Frieza when he first turned into a Super Saiyan. Although he did and had tons of power left, he also received a zenkai from the beatings he took earlier. (A Zenkai is where a Saiyan gains power every time come to a near death experience during battle or simply get beaten up badly.)
Anyway, after Goku defeated Frieza, he escaped the destruction of Namek by going to Yardrat, where he rested, trained, and learnt the Instant Transmission. From there, he was fully healed and gained control of his Super Saiyan state. He only grew stronger from this point on.
Cooler also knows how to preform the Instant Transmission, making him the second out of the three characters in the show that know how to do it.
When he came back to earth, the androids were already approaching. Sometime around this time, Cooler would appear.
When Goku and Cooler are fighting, Cooler explains to him that if Goku hadn't defeated Frieza, he would have himself, out of spite. He says that Frieza would always mock him about being better than him and that he was better than him until he unlocked his final form. That gave Cooler the edge now.
Remember, Due to the Zenkai Goku received he became at least 2 times stronger from when he fought Frieza. When Frieza was in his fourth form, Goku stood his ground with him even in his base form and later beat him when he ascended.
Here, Goku is on par with Cooler's THIRD form, if not, a bit weaker. When he transforms, Goku is completely demolished by the final form of Cooler and stood no chance until he transformed.
Again, due to the massive zenkai, Goku became A LOT stronger than he was on Namek. Transforming into a Super Saiyan brings your power up 20 times. For example, if your base power is 1,000,000 then you Super Saiyan power is 20,000,000.
It was only logic that Cooler would loose to the Super Saiyan form... Though, it was never clear if Cooler used all 100% of his power like Frieza did. Many believe he didn't.
When Frieza came back as Metal Frieza or whatever, he was new and improved. Even though he was stronger thab before, he was EASILY sliced up into pieces and then disintegrated by Future Trunks as a Super Saiyan, who was weaker than Goku as a Super Saiyan, and this was BEFORE Cooler had arrived on Earth.
When Cooler Came back due to the big Getti Star, he was known as Meta-Cooler. There, he was fully metal and built like a robot and was in his third form. He fought Goku as Super Saiyan and COMPLETELY demolished him. It was only when Vegeta came as a Super Saiyan too, that they stood a chance, but barely.
So I'll leave it up to you, an ignorant tyrant who lost to a newly transformed Super Saiyan, only to be sliced up by teenage Super Saiyan... Or a strategic ruler who lost to an experienced Super Saiyan, only to be killed by two, adult, and experienced Super Saiyans.
I personally believe Cooler would kill Frieza in the first 5 minutes if they fought. Lets not forget about the Instant Transmission technique he posses, either.

Cooler said to Goku that it was his third "transformed" state.
Base -> Transform - > 2nd Form -> Transform -> 3rd Form -> Transform -> Fourth Form.
Cooler didn't transform into his Base, therefore he transformed 3 times to get into his Fourth Form.
no such statement was made in the japenese film, cooler simply said he could transform one more time, that means cooler is in his 4th form or true form because he had no reason to make transformations for himself like freeza did. Cooler also says goku did well enough to beat freeza in base form with out kaioken. and ssj is a 50x multiplier not 20x. goku used kaiokenx20 and cooler still beat him but he was no match for ssj goku. gokus zenkia made him about 30x stronger just like on namek. 90,000x33.33 3,000,000. goku movie 5 4,500,000. zenkia x30 150,000,000 strong enough to beat freeza 100% and cooler himself held his own against goku so hes already like 135,000,000 him self. transformed similar to a ssj mutliplier x45. 6,075,000,000. ssj goku x50 7,500,000,000.
***** no his four form is his true form along with frieza. Those other forms that frieza use are just massing his true power into chucks instead of just having all of it. Cooler never did that as we see his in his true form while frieza blows up planet vegeta. Coolers 5 form is frieza's race try transformation.(even though cooler is non canon)

Normally I don't watch edited vids and stuff. But this was pretty good. And yeah, Cooler even stated himself that he could own Frieza but I think only when he found that next transformation. Correct me if I'm wrong. :P

Cooler final form is stronger than frieza 4th form by a lot. Goku when fighting cooler was stronger than goku fighting frieza, but still almost died when he got hit by cooler's death beam, and cooler wasn't even trying. But after all the beating frieza gave goku, and all the stress put on his body with the kaioken attack, he was still able to become a super Saiyan without blowing up. But goku base form facing final form cooler, with receiving the zenkai boost was still found with his face in the dirt. Clearly cooler is way more powerful than frieza

cooler's initial form only seemed as strong to me as frieza when he first reaches the 4 form, so I would think the transformation would only bring him 70% of frieza's power he couldn't even hurt goku when he transformed but frieza was still able to stay even with him for a while
Super super late on this one.
Goku got should’ve got a considerable zenkai boost after fighting Frieza. Hence why he face rolled Cooler after transforming.

@supersharingan42 Even with it being non cannon, Saiyans still greatly increase in strength when recovering from near death, and Cooler's death beam made Goku so weak he could barely move, so after taking the Senzu bean Goku probably got alot stronger there in addition to the strength he got after recovering from his battle with Frieza. I also thought it was strange that Goku wasn't able to really transform at will in this movie either, but either way he was still stronger so Cooler is too.

Okay know what I've tried to keep quiet but i can't anymore.
Cooler > Frieza in a battle to the death.
HOWEVER
Cooler admited that Frieza was stronger than him by a margin in their True (4th) form, according to the funimation dub. But we can't say that Frieza was stronger than Cooler in their original form b.c we dont know cooler's 4th form's power level too well, but we know this:
Power level wise Frieza at 100% is about 120,000,000, Cooler at his 5th form is almost quadruple's it with the power level of 470,000,000. Look it up.
If you try to make an excuse similar to, "But Cooler couldn't even damage Goku when he went super saiyan" or "But Cooler had to go to his 5th form just to beat Goku in his base form" please dont.
Goku got a huge zenkai boost after Namek to a point where he probably couldve beaten Frieza at his 100% with Kaioken, if not he'll turn super saiyan and won't have to even try. He also got a boost when he took a hit from Gohan in the beginning of the movie. So of course he'll be MUCH stronger.
Cooler saw that Goku's base form power (and remember he didn't not know about SSJ transformation) was just as strong as Frieza, if not stronger, so he went ahead and went to his 5th form. But SSJ1 Goku is much stronger than Cooler 5th form because of the zenkai boost he got from Namek .
And if you do bring GT into this.

Yup. Nothing wrong there. Frieza would be stronger but we can't say how much stronger. We can't forget that Cooler will have more experience with 5th form. Potentially, Frieza would be stronger than Cooler in their 5th form but it's going to be a close fight because Cooler has more experience in their 5th form leading him to have a slight edge.
But yes, Cooler would lose to Frieza if he were to somehow achieve that form.

Anyway, Cooler Final form is Cooler 4th Form, i just dont get where you guys get this information from... 5th form? There is no such thing.
He was in his 3th form and found a 4th form when he fought Frieza and said it when he had a conversation with Goku.

@Hexxedchild "Light years" might be an overstatement, I recall Cooler saying Frieze "Definitely had the edge", which makes me think Frieza was slightly stronger than Cooler in his base form. Cooler's final form either made him match 100% Frieza, or exceed it, but it's impossible to say.
