Your playing is awesome Avishai, and I'm determined to conquer the Salsa example to Blue Bossa - The hardest part for me is the Tumbao in the LH, and a completely different thing going on in the RH for solo piano. Would you consider a simplified tutorial (if you haven't made one already) just vamping on a Cmi chord for about 8 bars, slow & then up to BB speed? How about following that example with one that moves 2 bars of Cmi going to 2 bars of Fmi back and forth? Thanks! Intellectually I understand it, but want to FEEL this technique in a natural unforced way.
Fantastic composition by Kenny Dorham and awesome another lesson from Avishi. I can play Blue Bossa diatonic harmonica. And now the time to learn it play piano
I really like combining and and using different styles within the same song. I totally love going from the traditional jazz to Latin jazz to salsa to Blues to Basa Nova to freeform jazz where you play slightly outside of the traditional song to coming back to the traditional song and going into salsa going back and forth making a very happy audience applaud to hear more what you can do. You are an excellent teacher and you said good examples in your videos. Thank you
What do I think of this tutorial? You have yet again made an excellent tutorial for a great tune, which tempts me to spend time on it instead of all the exercises and songs I ought to stick to. You shall hear from my attorneys!
Sounds awesome - talk about hand independence!! This LH rhythm with offbeat accents in your opening demo of salsa style is what's most demanding to coordinate, especially if I'm thinking too hard about it - Bossa/Jazz no problemo! (Maybe I need a couple margaritas and lots of practice first?)
In the 6th measure I see some people play the melody note as Bb and some with the B natural. I think you played it both ways too. I remember I learned it first as B natural then over the years I started playing Bb for some reason, but now it sounds much better to me as B natural - has more bite to it
Hello from France, I love Bossa Nova Style but it's very difficulté to play for a beginner. Il study everyday some tutorial like Blue Bossa with Olly Stevenson or Insensatez with Pentamusica. Your Blue Bossa tutorial is fantastic and I have integred your tutorial at my routine. Thank' à lot for your sharing your knowledge of latin music. You are an excellent teacher. Congratulations. 👍 Pierre
hi pianofreak. great job, thx a lot. i have a question: I bought your books: latin piano collection 1/2. Is there an intention behind the order of the pieces? Would you recommend an order for learning the pieces? regards, Michael
@@stadimath5456 Hi Michael, Thank you for buying my books🙏 The order of the tutorials is random. You can treat each section individually as a starting point. But I think the "latin piano exercises" tutorial would be wonderful to start with Thank you and keep following ♥️🌹 Avishai
Thanks, great video again. Question about Salsa version: would you say exactly how you count the sixteenth bar turn around for tum bao in left hand bass line? Do you start again on the 1 each time you go back to the top of the form?
Hi Charles.. most of the time the bass line play 2.5. 4. 2.5. 4. except of the first bass note that falls on the one. But sometimes I improvise and I do whatever I want 🌷
Hi.. please let me know what do you think about this tutorial 🙏
