I definitely think you should put a tall floor lamp in the corner where the romance books were pulled out from! It'll give you the nice, cozy vibes while also giving you light to read with. 😊
That corner is gonna be difficult to decide! Maybe make it like a themed holiday area? Idk put some neutral items and then go crazy with adding spice during the seasons! Love your library literally would never leave!
I vote for a tall lamp or something for the chair/table corner. Or a large piece of art to connect and go behind the chair and table. Looks great!

On the empty wall, I'd put either a half-size bookshelf or a console table to display some pretty knick-knacks and decor (pink? spooky? you've got the range), and that way you'd still be able to hang art over it!
It looks fantastic! I think you should put a big plant, one that's a bit taller and fuller than the one you have, behind the chaise lounge. I agree with a foot rest by your chair. Perhaps a bookish painting/picture above the chair. Also I would put a tray, catty cornered, on your seat by the chaise lounge.
I know this has been posted for a while, but it was only just now recommended to me!!! I was thinking putting the pink ottoman thing in front of the couch thing along that wall where the corner is and have it be like a cute little decorative bench area and even make the wall behind it like a cute gallery wall. then you can put the chair and the side table near the couch thing kinda like how a living room setup would be and then just get a cute little low table for the middle nothing too fancy. sorry this late again but thats what i imagined!!
Feel like you need a skinny console table against that blank wall. And fill it with your witchy things. Move the pink chair closer to the middle of the room and have it like a little tea party.

It looks lovely as it it but you may as well admit to yourself that you will eventually need more bookshelves and that's where they will go!
I think a couple of half height book shelves would be nice. That way you have a top shelf you can add decorative items to and have space above for pictures. The chair and table could go in front of them.

If I gathered up all the piles around my house my bookroom would explode. My shelves are at their max, I've pulled YA, Fantasy, Romance and have been unhauling them like crazy. If you use that little reading Nook, a floor lamp and pouf might make it more functional and comfy.

Maybe you need another couch there or a recliner with a foot rest lol. Also a decorated area with string lights! Or like a winter theme area with baby blue and white! My fave color is baby blue. I also saw some coastal bookshelf ideas with white shelves and the inside back wall brilliant turquoise with a painting on the wall and some on the bookshelf, suitcase in the corner, bottles and glass jars filled with starfish, gold table, and white curtains on the window.
I lost a friend of mine so this video was a distraction. Love the idea 💡

I would put either a tall lamp or a tall plant in the corner behind the chair. Also a footrest or poof (one of those cozy knitted ones). I saw your video where you hauled Sword heart and immediately ordered it. Loved it!

Personally I would put the chair on the right. The dog bed a bit to the corner and the little white table more in the front and not to the side of the chair. So the middle or the room doesn‘t feel so empty. A nice big reading lamp behind the chair (right where the wall starts) and maybe a picture of a little shelf with some candles etc…..

Having a dedicated library is so lovely. You could do a shorter bookshelf for that wall so you have extra book space but also display space on top.
Also, I know you've said you love the Veronica Speedwell series, but have you ever read Deanna Raybourn's Lady Julia Grey series?
