As much as I wanted to see this race, the coverage and crazy pixelated video made me want to barf! Maybe it’s better to collect the video and put together a solid edit to post a day later.
For a sport trying to be in the Olympics and has become a big draw, if the major networks can film in the mountains covering differing sports then Spartan needs to figure out putting together something better than this

it is hard to watch when your watching someone that has no idea how to make a video, schedule your race somewhere that can get a signal
Please go back to a polished edited version of these big races. Low-quality, pixelated live streams are painful, can't watch them.

This coverage is so poor, I've ended up turning off. Perhaps collate the tape once the camera people are back and get edited asap. I know it's not live but has to be better than this.
I would rather watch this after the fact if the pixelation is going to be that bad, that you have to switch to the porta potties.. like I understand doing the live thing, but maybe figure out a way to make the video better.. sorry, I love watching the videos from before when there was a time to use better cameras.

Issues.. maybe use drones for the low signal part of the course.. Spartan has the money, have the athletes now they need to spend a little to better the coverage.
Quite possibly the poorest quality video I’ve seen Spartan produce.
This coverage is horrendous. The announcers are great, but I guess nothing from my $150-$200 race entry fees are going toward video coverage.
Greetings from Slovakia. At the same time, same weekend in our country (Vechec, Slovakia) was Ultra Beast where there were like 700 participants. I expected that you would have a little more participants. Anyway thumbs up for the finishers! Looks like Ultra Beast in Kelowna was a bit heavier/harder, because in Vechec the first finished at 5h32m.
Kudos to everyone involved! So many things are great like the rabbits, commentators, racers, venue, etc... BUT this visually is nauseating. Only one thing's wrong, but its so BAD. It's unwatchable. Again, great job to everyone! But not Spartan Race. Shame to brand this with such a poor quality. Can't imagine how it helps your brand or perception with such a poor quality product. You got lucky in UT with better signal, but this reception is typical up on the mountains. Gotta invest something more than just hanging a few ropes off the side of Z-Wall... No offense to OCR Report but they're not helping either. Might want to rethink this venture OCR Report... I don't get it when this is the finish product?
As many have commented, this footage is unwatchable. Really puts Spartan backwards even more when they put out this as the media coverage for the Noth American Championship race. Appears from the little we saw that there were minimal spectators at this race, as well. Looks like they lost their butts on this race all the way around. Epic fail.
Possible solutions: For future, please do NOT have championship races in Canada (crowds and participation too small, not worth investment). Also, invest in Starlink satellite access to increase better media coverage.
I am unsure of how much longer venture capital will continue pouring money into this without any return on their investment. Will be interesting to see when and from who the next buyout/merger/etc. will occur.
I love seeing all the ultra athletes peppered throughout the course. Go ultra athletes!
Also, I really appreciate it when guys do good burpees! Way to go guys who do good burpees!

Personally, I think these race coverages lose a lot of their appeal when the race audio is muted.

I’m sorry guys, but watching a rabbit walking around aimlessly isn’t race footage. An hour in and we’ve only seen a couple of minutes covering the women’s field.....

It’s so ridiculous. Either require only use the rope (the way it’s gripped now should be illegal and immediate fail) or get rid of the rope all together and just the metal attachment beaker that everyone uses. SMH

Poor coverage. Surely you can do better with all the money in Spartan.
It's a shame but it seems like the production value of these videos in 2022 has gone down drastically. In addition to the glitchy video due to filming in the mountains, the production team was off their game. Switching to someone for interview and having them unaware for a minute, then start to talk, stop, wait, and repeat everything they said. For minutes at a time they are showing no racers, just mountains because they couldn't get reception in the race areas. They need to figure out the technical issues quick or else show them with a time delay rather than live-streaming them. I think most of the audience who would watch these doesn't need to see it live.
In another video from the 2022 series they missed the start of the race because the camera stayed with the broadcast team rambling. By the time they switch back to the racers the pack has long split up.
I used to love these and will give others a chance, but they're shooting themselves in the foot for new viewers. Had this been the first one I viewed, I'd had stopped it 2 minutes in and probably never tried one again. A shame because these amazing athletes deserve better than this. Really wondering if the owners are putting their efforts into other ventures and letting this die a slow death.
The commentating for these is always the most aggravating but also comedy. They take themselves so seriously lol
The coverage have gotten worse and worse over the years. Definitely not encouraging viewers and certainly not doing the athletes any justice for how amazing they are. Some of the greatest Athletes on the planet and they hardly make any money and can’t get good coverage of their sport they compete in.

The visual quality is sooooo bad! And the structure of reporting is even worse.... if I compare it to 2018/2019 coverage it developed from "professional" to "complete beginners"... What happened? No priorities on spreading the spartan feever over the internet? I am really disappointed and will stop following the spartan north american championships....... Bad work!!!
