I can't recall another version than this being played in the Netherlands when it was in the top 40. So, it might be a remix, but THIS was the mix you heard on the radio back then in the Netherlands.
Yes, there are like 3 other uploads of this song and they contain a lot more lyrics/'singing' (vocal versions are usually the original). I'm 100% sure I never heard them back then, though. And they also suck compared to this mix.

You're right. But apparently this version is a remix. Look it up on YT. There are other versions.
