- A lot of you guys ask for tutorials, especially after the Armagon Combo, but I thought a video explaining my process while you guys watch me animate would help more. I cover a lot of things, such as spacing, timing, squash and stretch, anticipation, etc that I think beginners would find useful.

How do you move the camera with the stk figures?
Yeah, i prefer with no commentary
@@DaRealKiri if you mean moving them both at the same time you’d have to use the tool that lets you join the stickfigure to the camera, and then it lets you choose if you want it to get bigger or smaller with the camera as well or not
@@RaiLukashai meant how do you move the camera with the figures, cus it shows when zen attacks, the camera kinda bounces and follows her moves

man, you really have a lot of time and dedication when it comes to animating something, you really are inspiring.
It’s guys like you who make me come back to sticknodes, and find actual fun in animating. I realized a long time ago, if I wanted it to be a good animation, I have to be patient, and iron out my mistakes, and watching other animators do that exact same thing just confirms it. Keep it up 👍 ❤
@@romanemporertiberius aye I hope you can hold on to that cause I’ve been trying to enjoy animation again for a while now. Everybody gets there at they own pace so take your time and experiment
Thanks for this dude.. I learned a valuable lesson in arcs and this video also showed me a little bit about what my peers meant when they said "I need to think in 3d".. this video also showed me that me preferring going frame by frame over keyframing wasn't necessarily wrong despite how every other animator I tune into says keyframes are the way to go

I definitely prefer the commentary. It included some things I didn't know before, I'm definitely gonna use this stuff in my next oc battle.
Also, I'd would like a tutorial or even some thoughts on how to make your oc more unique aside from specific abilities/weapons. Almost every type of accessory has been used before, even darkboy took my trench coat!

Honestly, I’m not the best when it comes to designs but I take inspiration from shows or other media that I enjoy and try to put my own spin on it. Nothing wrong with taking an idea that’s been done before and tweaking it to make it yours.

Honestly, the best advice an animator can give to another animator is practice. Practice fundamentals and watch other animators that inspire you. For me, I’m inspired by Rai of course, Hexal, Jusace, GUIeru san, etc. I just watch them a lot and try to practice what I see to make my own style. I’ve been sucking recently due to hiatuses and demotivation because of more responsibilities coming my way. But I’m trying to keep these ideas in mind so that I will have the ability to open sticknodes and actually have ideas to animate. I apologize for the yap, I just like talking about animation. Keep practicing y’all🙏🏾

The guide ur using for the floor, i use to keep the height of my stick figures in check, by like putting it at the waist or head
How do u keep ur height consistent without doing that?
@@BriannSpirit I just don’t make the torso stretchy often and always reset the length of the legs so I never really have an issue with the stick being a different height.

@@notfex1427 I’ve been animating on a high FPS for atleast 5 years and because I do a lot of inbetweens I guess I just got used to becoming smoother over time. I don’t really do it intentionally so it’s hard to give advice on how to replicate, but it’s not hard.

@@Byron_person00011 I use movieclips my friends give me all the time 😭 if you don’t want to study effects and make your own, if you have permission and give credit when you use other people’s things you should be okay

Hey umm I really don’t like animating with some stretchiness cuz I won’t remember the hight of the stick figure so it’s very hard and I don’t know how to make a background so can I get a tutorial about all of that:))
@@lolfam-sm3uv stick nodes shows you the length of segments, and if you don’t remember you can just press the reset to default length button. And I didn’t make this background so I can’t give much advice on that

@@ChunkyMonk308 other than a few adjustments to poses, or what I call out I fixed, I tried not to add anything off camera especially extra frames. Unless I’m misremembering then no I didn’t ease anything off camera

@@DOWPaxo I just got used to animating on a high FPS with a lot of inbetweens. Learning movements takes time, it’ll come to you.

How do you copy and paste the figures at the same time if they are separate and you have to join them at the very torso
If a bunch of sticks are all connected to the torso you can just hold copy and it’ll give you the option to copy everything connected to it. It has to be on the thing everything else is connected to, like the torso in this case. If you did it on the arm it would only copy the arm

I'm new here, and i haven't been using sticknodes for a long time, so can you tell me how you add the other nodes in between frames without it looking like it just flashes off and on? Also how you make the arcs please?
It probably looks like that because you’re tweening, and when you copy paste a stick it’ll flash when the animation plays. I don’t use tweening so it isn’t a problem for me. You’d probably just have to not copy paste the stick. I explain how I make the arcs in the video with the guidelines, and then I just fill them in with rounded segments and polyfills

Alot of pro animators don't use tweening. Take my advice and never turn tweening on again. It is damaging in the long run and unhelpful. Began practicing the basics of animation. Eventually you will become so good tweening worsens your animation.

Now I’m realizing why I’m so bad at animating I don’t have the patience for this shi lol my attention span has been ruined
ok so I just tried making my animations a little bit smoother at the price of making them shorter, of course I added a lot more frames, cleaner, effects, and made a decent character for animating with. I’ve made three so far and they’ve been a lot better than most of my animations so smoother equals Shorter animations, but better quality and I’m gonna take that trade

@@godspeed572 very high skill ceiling if you’re willing to learn, like most other platforms. Just take some consistency. Some people out there are making crazy stuff with Stick Nodes

Yes, by downloading bluestacks (a android emulator) and downloading sn in bluestacks
What smears do you use?
Swish 2 from the website and then a bunch of polyfills
What are those Smears?!!!
The thick line is just swish 2 from the sticknodes website and the part I fill it in with is just a bunch of polyfills
