  • The Memphis Grizzlies were embarrassed by the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of their first round 2023 NBA Playoff series, outplayed in every facet and unceremoniously ejected from the postseason. Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane watched from the bench as their season ended in disheartening fashion. Now, what will they - and the rest of the Grizzlies organization - do about it? Hosts Damichael Cole and Joe Mullinax discuss that and preview a week of shows detailing end of season media availability and storylines out of it on this episode of Locked On Grizzlies!

Grizz players need to play to their strengths and not weaknesses. Ja, Bane, Clarke, Adams, are the only players on this team that know their strengths and play to them. The rest of the players have low basketball IQ. Example no one Dillon Brooks. Seriously I think this dude is on something or in a strange relationship. Just by listening to the way he talks and his body signs tells it all. Takes way too many shots in the 1st quarter. How can your role players take more shots then Ja and Bane? This is the coach's fault. You see coach Jenkins? He claps every time Brooks makes a mistaken. Coach sugar coating and too soft. JJJ is next. Shoots way too many threes still and seems to take dumb fouls all the time. Keeps reaching and charging into people and taking bad shots. Davis cook JJJ in this series. You can tell Davis is truly a Superstar after watching the series. Made JJJ look like a reserve player. I've been saying this all along. The culprits on this team are JJJ and Brooks. Both players are similar. They foul way too much, take dumb shots, low IQ, can't rebound, turnover prone, charges a lot, unorthodox shots (Brooks keeps shooting on this off leg), JJJ has a push shot and doesnt know how to pump fake. The only positives Brooks has is ok defense, but his short comings are way over the top. Only good thing about JJJ is he blocks shots. JJJ is too inconsistant. Imangine if we had Deandre Ayton in stead. We need to upgrade the foward position. Zaire wasnt too bad last season. This season Zaire had a lot of health issues and this really hindered this progress. But I see he is still better then Brooks in the long term.

@@sobaze I didn’t know you drafted Wiggins . 😂 . Nah y’all are the Yankees of the league along with the lakers . I respect the pedigree , but thats a fact. As for my grizzlies, you now see the reason we so desperately wanted to trade for mikal bridges 😂😂

@@901Wes, 1 guy. Wow! Steph, Klay, Draymond, Poole, Looney, Moody, Kuminga all drafted by the team. Are you kidding me? What an absurd comment. There’s hardly a team in the league that has as many homegrown players on the team as the Warriors. Memphis didn’t draft Steven Adams so I guess by your logic Memphis is the NY Yankees too. Ridiculous.

You’re missing the point . Y’all have like… 4-5 max or near max guys. The warriors drafted well true, but the ability to just buy talent makes you the Yankees . Bye bye DLO, we’ll trade you for KD . We can afford it . The lakers can be dysfunctional af yet superstars will volunteer. Of course it’s gonna be harder for small markets to compete . But gloat man 😂 go ahead .

@@901Wes, Nope. You’re missing the point. The Warriors were a joke before Steph, Klay, and Draymond came along. NOBODY wanted to come here. Those guys built the culture and the financial success of the team by winning. Winning. Not whining about all their disadvantages. And yeah, after 40 years of frustration and irrelevance between Rick Barry and Steph Curry were very proud of our team. Especially given how they conduct themselves, like champions, not like the fake gangsters in Memphis.
