It’s not that Federer was “out” of his prime that he started losing. It’s that djokovic “entered” his prime and started beating prime fed from 2011-2015. Not till after 2017 can u say federer started declining because of his age and his form of tennis.

Two top tier tennis athletes with stunning slice winners that are not even slightly mentioned in these video collections from "over the years" are Andy Murray and Pete Sampras. Both were absolutely deadly with their slices.

Federer the freaking GOAT, and I say this as a Serbian! Easily highest peak out of any player in history. Peak for peak, Fed has a better serve, forehand, slice, volley, dropshot, and overhead compared to the "other 2"
But the numbers are what matters when it comes to objective comparison :)

@@defeatist3463 tennis is not sport of dancing , if we look objectivly, there no adout that fed is goat and pure genius touch, but is not fighter and consistant point, other hand , nadal , has power and banana shot and some touch but few axcept banana shot, but novak i between them, mixed with pure touch and flixibility resilience and mixed power and touch, like lob, backhand and foirhand, slice'(recently developped) and speclialy with touch of dropshot to push oppenent to run until exaucting , i'm forwhile fed fan , but since 2011 i become fan djoker game because his life style food, off court, and on court, his proffionalism athlete , and he faced agaisnt all odd (toxic media biased)

Hurray. I remember when almost no one used slices; perhaps in the 90's and 00's? They seemed to go "out of style" the way certain moves do in sports. Then I guess some coaches said, "Hey, Here's a neglected/forgotten shot we could resurrect." Adds so much to the game.

you missed my two favourite ever slice winners:
1) Wawrinka watchpoint winner against tsitsipas in Roland Garros 2019 (one of the rg classics ending with a beautiful point)
2) Nadal amazing backhand slice drop shot winner against Medvedev in 2022 AO Final in an amazing point overall
First of all, TennisTV does not show Grand Slam points. It's incredible how many times these people have to repeat that. Secondly, that Nadal backhand slice drop shot in the 2022 AO final is not the firs time Rafa pulls out that shot. He did the almost exact same shot against Khachanov at Indian Wells 2019. Check that out, they are almost identical.

You forgot the slice winner of Nadal . It was 2011 against Djokovic in Indian Wells. You also forgot the unbelievable slice winner from Djokovic. It was 2013 against Delpotro also in Indian Wells. Those were the two biggest slice winners I’ve ever seen

Gorgeus compilation but one very underated shot is missing, somewhere in the EXTRAORDINARY Round Robin match at the Nitto Finals 2020, Thiem hit a jewel of a sliced backhand pass at Nadal who was coming after a wonderful aproach to the net. Look for it and enjoy it!
