So many years....The Redskins, Wizards, Nats were who they were. But I always felt the Caps did things the right way, appreciated their fans, put teams together, competed. It was always frustrating that it wasn't rewarded in the past (2009/10 team really really should've won). But all that is in the past, not one person can take anything away from our achievements anymore...I love this city.
Wow this took a ton of work. Incredible. We were STH since day one. Seeing that clip of Stevens was amazing. Thanks for including it. There aren’t enough of those on YT. I’ve found as many as I could. The caps fortunes changed in 82 not because they traded for Langway but because they drafted Scott Stevens. He brought instant respect at 18 and showed his teammates that we fear no one. I can’t remember any NHL player with his blend of skill and intensity and he was ours. Alan May said it best when he said Stevens WAS the caps. He was the heart and soul. They followed his lead. We would have won the cup long ago had we matched the blues offer sheet. It was very difficult watching him become a legend with the devils. The funny thing is 90% of caps fans don’t even know who he was and that he was a cap. Next to Ovi he’s the best player we ever had and I’ve seen em all. But I’m glad we got at least one. Caps forever!!!

Stevens got traded because of allegations against him (rape). Caps would've won a cup earlier if it wasn't for that.
By far the best capitals cup video I've seen since they won. This is 2024. I'm not sure how I haven't seen this video yet
