The recently announced ancient city Sri Thep in Thailand is another evidence and it seemed to be older than many ancient city in the same region. By the way, the culture is something created from the ancestors and keep from generations to generations. It is not always true that the older must be the original of everything. You have to look back through the history, there are so many things were demolished by Khmer Rouge (including genuine Khmer cultures, teachers and artists were died) . Many people were died until it can be called as genocide, you can see this evidence at tuol sleng museum in Phnom Penh. That’s why the Cambodian culture now is something imitating and learn from neighbors and misunderstood (or even intentionally claimed) that it belongs to Cambodia, The Cambodian’s cultural ministry had to announce through Cambodia newspaper a few years ago, to warn the dress rental shop at Angkor wat not to use Thai dress (which is so popular in Cambodia now, because of Thai drama) because it makes Khmer people confused. You can see that although Khmer has a long history but it seems that it was only about the old cities and ancient sculptures, not culture.

Dear Clevy, please note Cambodia was the Colonized land of Siam (Thailand) before it was Colonized again by the French. They were led to believe by the French. They were a great empire in ancient mainland Southeast Asia. But in fact, all that is seen in Cambodia is the civilization that flows from the Siamese, Ayutthaya, and Phimai (Northeastern Thailand) kingdoms. It is not possible for the country that owns art and culture to have inferior quality to the country that copies it. According to the Claimbodians, Thai culture is copied from them as the origin of the culture.
The Ramayana (Ramakian (meaning in Honor of King Rama) in Thai) was the WAR in the Indian sub-continent between King Rama's troops (Humans are the Aryan people) VS Ravana's troops (Demons are the Dravidian, they were the capital in Lanka Island (Sri Lanka now)) troops led by Indrachit and use the Tri-headed Naga to be tight to the Rama King. In the past, it was belived that Khom and Khmer were the same ethnicity.
But ; now , there are many new evidences showing that this belief is wrong. For example, DNA studies of many ancient skeletons ( more than 1,000 - 2,400 yrs. old )in this region indicated that they are ancestor of Thai, Mon, Myanmar, Lao.
Whereas, DNA of present Cambodian indicated that they are descendants of a tribe on the Indonesia island , migrated to main land hundreds ys. ago as slave, working as unskilled labour in construction of Angkor Wat which belong to Khom; the ruling class of that period.
In colonial era, English conquered the Empire of Myanmar , while France could just occupied Cambodia ; a colony of Siam.
How could France enhanced its' little victory to be as great as that of English ?
The answer was just to promote the history of its' colony by claiming that Khmer was the descendants of Great Khom Empire, not just a slave tribe.
This have become a belief for 100 yrs. until it is disproved by many evidences.
However, many Cambodians still deny the new evidencs that destroy their pride.

Khmer can only perform as little as they has ever been taught by a Thai teacher. And if you still can't do it, ask through UNESCO for Thailand to send more teachers to teach. In this scene, Lakshmana, Rama or the hero's brother, is fighting with Indrajit, the villian's son. But no one wins, so Indrajit leaves his shadow on the ground continue fighting but the real one goes on that cliff and shoot him with Naga arrow.
The arrow turns into a Naga and binds Lakshmana and makes him unconscious. So Rama has to call Garuda to take the Naga away. Because Garuda eats Naga as its food.
