Adjustment is good but too much adjustment is not acceptable. If the environment is very bad and cannot be changed then one must become independent and detach from those people or else they will believe that he/she is dependent and will continue to exploit her as if they are helpless. Don't be helpless. Aise rehne se shanti nahi milta. Shanti agar akele rehne se bhi mile to accha hain. Sometimes we may visit them and talk for sometime. That's it. We are here to be happy and realise our true identity. Hare Krishna. 🙏

U r राइट .

parent become our bosses. Exactly, you are talking about my mother. Words match so well to what she keeps saying. This is so true... but I am above it now. I didn't give much importance to my toxic mother... yes I kept her at distance as faar as possible. She is working in hospital but that is not her own choice, she applied for job where my dad also worked... that's it. but now tells everyone that she is healer. i get angry when she criticises but it is more from those past wounds not through any emotions. i feel sharp pain in my heart chakra when I hear her voice in criticizing tone, as if someone is putting nail in my heart... so I try to avoid her. it doesn't affect me much if any other person criticizes me, but 1-2 people in my life have affected a lot and when they talk i feel sharp pain...in all these i consider my brother as my spiritual teacher. He has no wounds and can take her criticisms. I have curse from mother according to astrology and it is true.. but God is now healing my wounds.. I just accepted her and keep distance. I still handled all my life myself... i rarely had time to give attention to her criticisms, when i had time i reflected on them, some were true some not. Best thing is let go, forgive and move on. I know she is poor soul too...may god bless her and heal her. But my dad was real Buddha... he had no addictions. I am grateful for that.

Hare Krishna dear Namita Ji, your words are so comforting as in such situations the Sufferer/ Target of Toxic Adults is Isolated, their image is tarnished, relations suffer and life goes on like Saanp Seeri ka game. I have suffered this all my life but usually the problem is not acknowledged or addressed. Feel toxicity is infectious.

I have a toxic father who tortured my mother mentally and physically till we are in our mid 20s.. Also tortures me and my siblings. Now blames my mother that she separated us from father.. He never accepts that it's his behavior because of which we keep distance from him because of his controlling and narcissistic behavior.

Mistake I did through out my life is that I put them on pedestal & tried hard to please them. Because of this they were not giving me space to have my own life & pursue my passion. It also created jealousy among my other siblings. I faced hatred from siblings & harassment as well as blame from whole family, even though I was the best one.

True i accepted that both my inlaws and bother in law are toxic. They are jealous of their own son and daughter in law. They dont see them growing in career. But i remained assertive to achive my greater Goal. Even my Lord helped me at every step. Still the scars of past honder me and give bad dreams. When i talked to them my words are respect full but there is no respect in my heart.

Bath dharmik duties ki nahin hai. Aaj ke din me ladkiyon ko bhi struggle karke upar aana padtha hai economically aur socially independent aur samman pane ke liye. Par jab apne hi bachchon ke samne hume Bina Karan apmanith karthe hain aur husband mook darshak rahte hain aur dheere dheere unka sath dene lage to hume lagtha hai ki humari sanskriti me hi kuch bhayanak kharabi hai jo daughter in law's ko paise kamane ka jariya aur sirf Ghar ki kamwali ka darja Diya jatha hai

We both are their eldest children and we’ve spent a lot of money and made a lot of effort in settling our younger siblings and buying expensive gifts for them took them for foreign vacations and made sacrifices for them yet we aren’t able to satisfy their demands.

My husband and his whole family have severe narcissistic personalities. After marriage, husband who is British Indian stopped me from working, tells me that I should be grateful that his family is feeding me.
