  • Just got the Landy Evo 40 and super stoked to ride it. I’m pleasantly surprised. One thing I didn’t mention is that because of the 11 plies it’s quite heavy (and it being 40 inches), so my arm gets kinda tired carrying it😜Enjoy!

    Yo, I just found the channel. So far I'm liking it, pretty cool seeing someone progress slowly over time. Only thing I could recommend is to get your slides down before getting to fast. I know everyone's already said it but yeah. Hard to get the most out of your wheels (or your whole downhill setup) if you can't slide around a corner and really feel the grip and kick out. Getting over 25 mph without knowing how to slide can be pretty dangerous too. But yeah, other than that keep up the good work. Not a whole lot of TH-cam channels like this and we definitely need more.

    Love the video, considering getting an evo 36. The classic 40 is a boat in the best way possible

    It would serve you better with a wider truck. Try a 180 on it.

    I would trade a kidney to get an older Evo 40 when it had ELEVEN plys of laminate and FIFTEEN degrees of nose and tail angle. The new one have 9 plys and 9 degrees of angle.

      Will do man. I’m not really into tricks, so I don’t know how to do any, but I have 2 DH runs that I’ve already recorded that I’ll be uploading soon so stay tuned. Thanks for watching the vids :)

    Damn I wanted the 36 but I couldn't find it anywhere. I bought a complete evo 40 instead I like it just a tad to big for me I'm used to 36" and 38". Consider just ridding it instead of carrying it

      Yeah you can’t exactly ride up the hills I ride but I understand where you’re coming from. I previously rode a 32” Madrid Snitch so it feels huge to me. I prefer the snitch so I’m gonna try going back to it for a bit and compare. The evo is super stable tho, but I agree it’s a bit too big

    Hey what camera do you use? Cause I’ve been wanting to start my own longboard channel. (By the way it’s still me Samuel)

      lol I use my iPhone 12 camera 😂it’s nothing crazy, but it shoots in HD and 60fps and it works for me. But when I started I used an iPhone 7 camera so really it doesn’t matter. I’m my experience, your content matters more, and usually a obo e camera or really anything is of decent quality nowadays. But hey, I wish you the best of luck on your channel! Comment on one of my future videos if u make one and I’ll be happy to check it out!

    Hi! I am from Peru and I am trying to decide which board is best for me. I am 169 cm and weight 72 kg. Should i buy the Evo 36 or the 40? Which wheels do you recommend for sliding? and which for downhill? and finally what trucks shoudl i buy? I am planning to spend around 300 USD

    • @psychedlongboarding1434
      @psychedlongboarding1434  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Christian. The board that will best suit you will depend on what style you’ll be riding. For extreme downhill, the trucks themselves are gonna cost ~400 USD so probably won’t be the best option for you haha. I’d recommend the following setup:
      Deck- Landyachtz Evo 40
      Trucks- 184mm Caliber II’s
      Wheels- 65mm Blood Orange Liam Morgan Pro’s
      Bushings-I’d highly recommend getting a bushing bag from Venom. It comes with a large variety of bushings so you can customize the feel of your board. Bushings are probably the most important part of a board that’s meant to go fast (besides a decent truck).
      Now while this setup is up to personal preference, I think this setup would suit you well since the deck isn’t *too* short, but also isn’t too long. The wheels should slide quite well, but are also big enough to handle bad terrain. The Evo 40 is definitely gonna feel better. Unless you’re used to riding very small boards, the Evo 36 may feel a bit cramped. Check out LYLA Crew’s video on the Evo 40 and 36, they’re sponsored by Landyachtz and have good content. Also, your height and weight really don’t matter in long boarding. It may effect the way you stand slightly, but generally most people just completely don’t worry about weight since all boards can hold well into the hundreds of pounds range. I hope I was able to help narrow down your decision. Let me know if you have any more questions, or if I forgot to mention something

      @@psychedlongboarding1434 Thank you very much for the complete answer, I will be buying evo 40, the bushings and the trucks you recommended. Regarding the wheels, which durometer do you recommend, is 82 ok? Regarding the trucks, will the degree make a difference? Is 44 a good starting point? I am really grateful for the information you provide!

    • @psychedlongboarding1434
      @psychedlongboarding1434  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christianrondon2358 yeah I think 44 degrees will be nice for a downhill setup bc they’re nice and stable. In terms of duro for downhill, it’s very in-the-air. A lower number (softer duro) is gonna be better for racing and grilling corners, but a higher number will be better for sliding. Something like the 82a would work great if sliding is your intended use
