Between rear axle and cab is where they fold for to much weight. Look into tow truck build videos and they show some parts of where they reinforce the frames before putting the body on.
Wheel lifts are no joke on truck frames. I know I'm late on this comment but the best reinforcement is to double or triple that frame up from the inside. I have a box framed dodge and bent one on an 06 from a small minivan. Airbags were a big factor. Airbags and minor reinforcement are a recipe for a snapped or bent frame. Hopefully this thing is working out for you. I'm only on this part. Going to continue watching the series and see how it's working out!
I suggest putting in bracing as far to the front as possible because it will Crack over time if not I like where you are going with the lift also should be a nice setup when it's done
There's nothing wrong with overkill. Go as far as you practically can. All the way past the cab if you can. Detroit wrecker has some awseome videos on their reinforcements.

It hasn’t gotten used enough to be put through the paces yet. I changed jobs and went into heavy equipment work and haven’t used it just a whole lot.

Yes for sure. Yeah I’m really familiar with all of the Detroit Wrecker does.
what series truck 2500/3500? and what motor? I bought the entire lift already and looking at a 2000 c2500 to put the lift on
Mine is a 05 2500 with the 6.6 diesel. And I really had to beef it up. Almost double the springs frame reinforce and a counter weight.
Between the cab and the bed I broke 2 trucks in the middle all the engine weight is in the front
It's right behind the cow
