To anyone who is waiting to play this as a multiplayer game, it's not good for that. Don't get me wrong if all you want is the OPTION to visit eachothers houses and like mine while seeing other players, then that's fine. There's just not a whole lot of actual co-op value or mmo value, and nobody can see your house unless they come visit your solo instance. If you just want a chill stardew valley-esque game then this game is for you! It's quite fun for that. Just warning people who are thinking about picking this up for the multiplayer aspect.

They weren't saying the multiplayer wasn't fun, just that there isn't much forcing you towards co-op if you don't want to. I enjoy that, having only really grouped consistently with one other player. I'll still work with other players whenever our paths cross, but chilling takes priority. The immediate hostile approach you're taking is a tad silly.
Thanks for the heads up! I did agree with my cousin to start playing it together as we live in different countries. If there's nothing to do together at least we can get on Discord and okay at the same time. Let's see!
@mawuwus The micro transactions follow the standard purchasing with a secondary store currency like most games do. The store is entirely cosmetic based. Each cosmetic generally has three different patterns, with each one of those having different color combinations. You can either purchase individual patterns or the whole set as a bundle. Purchasing multiple patterns gives you a discount, like buying a bundle on Steam does. You don't have to buy the whole bundle up front to receive the discount. If you're the type that needs all the cosmetic options, then it would be quite pricey. I just go the route of getting myself the one pattern I like every few months if there is something I want. Nothing rotates out, so you're not getting FOMO'd into making a purchase.

Not quite, it's... I'd say more like a cozy farming sim MMO, but not reeeaaally an MMO, since you only play with a handful of people at a time at random, so not really massively multiplayer. But it has progression like one, in which you gain levels in various skills slowly over a long period of time, but also mechanics like a farming sim, in which you do some homesteading, fish, farm, raise relationships with people and have relationships with NPCs. It's a good game, honestly, though it puts my PC into orbit while running for some reason, so I'm curious to see how it runs on Switch.

Why is there no mention of Palia still being in Beta? The game is riddled with major bugs that the devs haven't been able to fix for over 4 months. They claim it is a cozy and inclusive game but ignore the pleas of their disabled players about simple accessibility features that are missing from the game. How Nintendo can allow this in the store when progression blocking and reverting bugs still exist baffles me.
As someone who's been playing for several months now, the only content behind a paywall has been clothing. There's lots of free clothing with various color options for people who aren't paying 🤷♀️

It would give more players an incentive to actually do stuff and not just play for a week or two. Being able to "achieve" better outfits through actual gameplay is one of the elements of any game with a character customization. It's like a "badge of honor" where you can show off you've been actually doing something in this game to achieve nicer items. Instead you have a boutique with microtransactions, where you can buy fake currency with real money and spend it on nicer looking clothes than the starter basics.

You are prompted at first launch of the game on switch to link both accounts. If you skip this you can NOT attempt the link again. But yes if you have a PC account you can play it on switch and back again as long as you do the initial linking of accounts
It's cross progression as well as cross play. They've got a full FAQ on it, but you should just be able to login with your existing account and it'll link the two together.
Stop comparing this to zelda just because it's another game where you can glide in the sky and shoot arrows, please. If you're gonna compare it to something this is like sims mixed with the way animal crossing works
We know the Switch can run certain games like the Witcher3 and Dying Light and a near solid frame rate whilst still looking good, so i'm hoping this at least hits a solid 30fps, but I won't get my hopes up.
A warning to new players about this game that says it's accessible & inclusive... it's not! There are 2 accessibility options: a center rectangle & buggy field of view settings. There is no UI scaling, no colour blindness modes, and if you can't physically do the temples (the new one is being reported to cause vertigo, migraines, & seizures btw... and even abled-bodied people are reporting that it's very difficult) you are locked out of the main storyline. The company has ignored all calls for accessibility options since before the beginning of open beta. I love Palia (level 500 player here), but this is utterly unacceptable. Other games of the same genre are killing it in accessibility (Coral Island & My Time at Sandrock to mention 2), but Singularity6 is leaving the bar on the and ignoring it. Frankly, I'm highly disappointed in Nintendo for supporting this game.

Kind of! I consider this a house decorating game. The main gameplay loop is gathering material to craft furniture. And also fishing, farming, big catching, hunting, etc to make money :)
