I have never heard anyone say 'alayhu as-salaam after Sayyid Malak al-Mawt. It makes sense, but its odd to me for some reason.
SomeGuy it is used for Prophets and angels. Not odd
SomeGuy because we love the sayidina malak al mawt عليه السلام and we hope to meet him in a pure state inshallah
