    I loved seeing your collection with all the snow in the background. I too love burkeii. It's one of my faves. And I love Sansi lights. I need lots more of those in winter.

      Yes, when it's grey and snowy outside (and too cold to go outside without a serious reason lol) my "little jungle" helps me survive until spring haha.
      How is your winter in Florida by the way?

      @@WindowsillNepenthes I bet it's a nice refuge. It's finally winter down here. We had two nights already of frost and the lows got to 27F. I had to put my jeep outside and use my garage as a temporary green house this year because my patio greenhouse fell apart finally. I have a Vlog for Jan 24 that shows it. We're always amused by the ice but we hate it. It's fun to fill the bird bath and see it turn into an ice donut. Plants are ok but not happy either.

    btw - do u think I will be able to grow talangensis x hamata on windowsill? I'm a bit afraid of it, but there's no way back now lol

      Thanks!
      And about talangensis x hamata, it sounds like it will like it cold at night. So you may have less pitchers during summer...
      My hamata does the same. ;)

      Oki, thx. I will try to give it the best care I can!
      I also ordered some other cool hybrids with it, but I think they will like my intermediate windowsill conditions.
      Veitchii x mira, (Veitchii x Lowii) x platychila, (Veitchii x Lowii) x (Burbidgeae x Edwardsiana) -- all of em are BE preorders.

      @@youngdaveey2966 You picked some nice intermediate for sure! And some tend to by more intermediate-lowland and some other more intermediate-highland so you should have pitchers year round :) Even is you will see a switch depending on the species pitchering

    After trying out white grow light for a year, I found purple grow light actually help lowland nepenthes form pitchers.

    Basically any nepenthes that people say that are easy to grow. I grow lady luck/bloody Mary, deroose alata,talangensis x glandiliferia, and ramispina x robcantleyi. Right now they are all small though. And the talangensis x glandiliferia has no pitchers now because I fed it an osmocote pellet so right now it's just leaves. But hopefully in a couple months it should have some pitchers. The plant itself is okay it's just because I fed it osmocote.

      You are right, but keep in mind that an "Easy Nepenthes" for someone that grow them in a terrarium won't be easy for average house. But if you take the time to research and understand their needs, and provide it to them, that can thrives.
      Did you checked my interview with Ron that grow hamata on his windowsill?

    Hi Remi can you give me the minimum temperature to grow Intermediate and Highland Nepenthes in my greenhouse please, as living in uk. Looking forward to your kind advice and reply. Excellent videos and always enjoy watching you talking about these amazing plants! Peter

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi :) So for me my intermediate enjoy night between 16ºc and 22ºc. And highland (not the ultra highland) enjoy night from 14ºc to max 18ºc.
      And for HL when come summer, the pitcher less or even stop. But in UK you should be able to open the greenhouse at night during summer so that will help no?

    • @peteruk8925
      @peteruk8925 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Remi thank you so much for your reply, due to ever increasing energy bills in uk and supposed be increasing by 40% in April. Had my greenhouse set at 11c but few plants not happy so raised to 12c at night. I think that I'm going to have increase further as have approximately 90 plants mixture of intermediate and Highland species. Unfortunately lost 2 plants so far, will turn up temperature today. Appreciate your help. Best wishes Peter

    I find Nepenthes easy but I'm sure some are primadana's and want specialized conditions.

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if people check their conditions and choose a species (or hybrid) that would accept it, it should be easy (as long as people know how to care for Nepenthes).

    Do you put tap water or distilled water in the humidifyer?

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Distilled water or Reverse Osmosis water. Tap water would put too many minerals on the membrane and kill the machine after some time.

    I am having trouble identifying the nepenthes that I bought from a general plant nursery and am struggling to get pitchers to develop and open. I watched your videos, but is there a good spot to go to try to search?

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would take pictures of the leaves and how they are attached to the stem then post on a nepenthes Facebook group for ID.
      But I'll try to do a video late.
