You know you could stick the hose all the way in and let it fill, plug one end with something then when you set it lower then the water barrel and pull the plug gravity will do the rest, there is no reason to be choking everytime lol. Love the videos though, thanks for making them!
A question for you I have my hive now I have them up on blockers and I have the tin strap around it but under the landing board there’s a gap and even we have the bad winds they have to land on the bricks then clime to the hive should I put a couple of sheets of wood for them to help them land right please to block the wind help

hey mate, how many hives do you have? And are you a commercial bee keeper? I've watched all your vids and still cant work out if your a absolute expert or beginner.. anyway, great vids and good luck... as it really doesn't look like there tonnes of nectar out in the sticks..
Dad has about 50 hives at the moment and is starting to because a commercial beekeeper but start a few years ago as a hobby. His an almond grower and will be using the bees to pollinate.
You know instead of risking pneumonia and/or other fun lung infections from aspirating water, you could buy a 12 volt water pump with a cigarette lighter plug and run it from you truck's electrical system............... Just sayin'.
Someone, for the love of God, buy him a shake syphon before he drowns himself on dry land. Love the videos, keep it up.

Submerge most of the hose then plug the end and lower the tip below water level remove plug.

It's to keep the water surface constantly moving so it doesn't provide a stagnant water ground for mosquitoes etc.
It's so the bees can land safely and drink without drowning!
