Wow, memories. When I was about your daughter's age, we went on the same tour. That was almost 40 years ago now. I still remember when the guide offered for anyone to try hammering the gold out of the rock. I jumped forward, all enthusiastic...one hit, and I was no longer interested in earning my fortune in gold mining 🤣 Thanks for sharing your adventures. Silverton was a yearly vacation destination until I was about 16 and we'd moved too far away. Cherish these memories!
Wow thank you! Some awesome memories for you! I can only hope Clara looks back on this in 40 years and feels the same way… thank you for the comment! We hope you will look around our channel and watch some other episodes!
Tiny old operation they had there. Went down into Doe Run's Buick mine in Viburnum. Tunnels were big enough for 2 cars to pass with a 20 foot ceiling. 1100 feet under ground
Thanks for sharing this was very cool to watch. Can't wait to go out there in May and see it all ourselves.
Thanks! Let us know how it goes!

Wow that’s awesome! We would love to find some trails that go through an old mine!
Even better- Take the steam train from Durango up to Silverton. I have not ridden the Durango and Silverton train, but, it looks like paradise.
Yes, it looks awesome! We tried to ride but it was booked up!
Thanks for watching! We hope you will subscribe!
