J R YOU ARE A FIGHTER THEIR IS NO MISTAKE ABOUT THAT. I will tell you a story! True story! I was 21 and i was drafted in the army. I was married just before shipping out TO VIETNAM. I had been their about 8 months. My wife gave me a St. Cristipher metal and it was a bad day i needed that metal i tor my bunk and wood skids out where i slept. I went to the supply Sargent to see if he had a rake. So the metal had length of chain 12 to 15 inches. I raked that area every 360 degrees. By this time i broke 💔 i had my hands over my face and i was crying silently. Now i had put the area back the way it was. Sitting on my cot cryying and praying 🙏. Now l was looking down at the skids tbrough my fingers and there was a bright gold and silver glint in between the slats. It was the LORD answering 🙌 my prayer. I got down on my knee's and reached down and it was my metal. True story and when you need him most, the LORD WILL HELP YOU J R. I was as low as i could go and he new i needed him. My wife and i have been together for 55 years. Secret to marriage is never go to sleep angry. Never go to bed without telling her you love her. 💘 I will pray for you J R.
My Son was stepped on by a bull. I was told you could hear his leg snap across the arena. Both bones broke. He had a long recovery. I told him he better have a girlfriend or be married if he ever rode again because I did child bathing duty way to many times with him. Ride again he did. I lost my special Cowboy in 2012. By God's grace it wasn't a riding accident. Love your cowboys like there is no tomorrow. I miss my Son so very much.
Thank you for reminding me that difficult days can still be good days. Iike you said, its all in your attitude. It also reminded me to open that Bible that has been sitting in my closet collecting dust!! Thank you for your example of true strength.
Not the first bronc rider in that family to break his back. Her uncle Sid Newman also broke his back years ago. Tough people from tough country. I remember the Newman rodeo company well. Hats off to you all.
Hey J.R. - wow! Keep going, man. I don't know you but you are def. inspiring. Keep doing what you're doing & I believe that you'll be able to get up on your horse...all by yourself. I too had a bad fall, a rotational 360° - horse stepped on an air pocket in bad, new footing in an arena. For the grace of God- like you, I'm alive (horse was fine!) but my neck is messed up. In a split second, I went into the "tuck & roll" position I was taught in jumping lessons from decades before. That saved my life. I wish you all the best. You've got an amazing team around you & a wonderful wife & baby! Hope you get back to your training soon. Maybe watch some of Warwick Schiller's training videos. Esp. those in the past 3.5 yrs. He's had a major epiphany about his training & has done extensive studying in human psychology, mixed with a horse centric approach. Amazing results... and he's happier as a husband, a trainer & father! Never hurts to keep learning. Sending you 🙏🏼 & encouragement, esp. on a discouraging day.
