Melihat ending dari cerita ini memang sedih. Menurut saya Fang Haishi adalah korban dari keegoisan gurunya yang mempunyai ikatan boneka dengan kaisar. Kaisar Di xu justru setuju melepaskan ikatan boneka dengan Fang shu karena dia ingin melihat Fang shu bahagia dengan Haishi. Sebenarnya dia jg tdk setuju pd saat Haishi diberikan ke kaisar oleh Fang Shu sebagai selir. Diakhir cerita sebelum meninggal kaisar menitipkan anaknya
akan tetapi karena anaknya lahir prematur dan takut tidak selamat akhirnya Fang shu memutuskan melakukan ikatan boneka sekali lagi untuk melindungi anak kaisar Di xu. Problemnya ada didiri Fang Shu sendiri karena begitu kuatnya pengabdian dirinya pada kerajaan menjadikan dia mengorbankan kebahagiaan Haishi.
