i love how all otehr stacy's brother animatics are like, "how do i tell my bestie i'm gay for her brother" like the lyrics, but here he xuan's just like, "how do i tell my bestie i beheaded their brother"
originally it was gonna be a Jing renheng thingy but I was like NO they must be actual brothers so then this popped out- no hooking up just cooking up a dead body

LOL ive been passively watching mainly svsss animatics with a few tgcf mixed in for the last hour or so, and i fully thought this was one of them for as second
I might be the only human out there who had no idea what this song was about, and I was quite surprised when I saw some comments XD but that only proves how cleverly you used the lyrics to portray a story that's so far away from the song's original meaning, and this is seriously incredible! Not to mention that the animatic itself is just beautiful and flowy, and your way of drawing He Xuan right after his death is just a notch above all the other portrayals I've seen so far! I could honestly go on with praises, I have so many on my mind right now, but let me try and keep this short: I really, REALLY loved the animatic through and through!!
AH TYSM you have no idea how much I love these comments because altho I just do these for fun I do try to put a lil extra meaning in what I draw a story within a story and usually I try to stick with the lyrics to a song because I think it's weird for the lyrics and the video to be two different things but this time I think I was able to do that in a new way and AH beefleaf is so complicated of a ship if you stick to canon which I feel soke people dont acknowledge then again I'm not sure if this counts as a ship animatic lol
@@probablyjade Honestly I think I know what you mean. Even though in canon we don't get the romantic part of the ship, it's still complicated enough on its own, especially if you think about what must have been going on in He Xuan's head throughout those centuries when he stayed by Shi Qingxuan's side but kept thinking about Shi Wudu instead, and searched for clues in regards to Water Master's involvement in his own death. And then there is the thing how canon-wise, He Xuan didn't ultimately want Shi Qingxuan to be present as he took revenge upon Shi Wudu, and he was really mad that Shi Qingxuan wasted all those chances to be kept far away from the gory details, which could point the reader towards a conclusion that he valued their friendship and wanted to preserve it if possible. It's because of this that your animatic really spoke to me, because it explores upon those ideas that I also had been wondering upon for a long while, and it's definitely not a typical approach that I see people take when they make beefleaf content.
