Someone said to me “Come on, let’s go see Butch Trucks at Wetlands! His Nephew is playing with him!!!” I love Butch, so of course I say yes and was totally obliterated when I walked out of there. This was my first Derek Trucks Experience!!! Been a fan ever since!!
Did you ever transcribe any of this? Just starting on some of it now. I've listened to croaking at toads and transcribed a few licks off of it that I use from time to time but I had no idea this recording existed. He uses a lot less gain in this recording and his guitar is a bit clearer which is nice. Croaking at toads had a bit more energy with the higher gain but this whole recording seems to be a gold mine of pretty clear sounding Jimmy licks.

Definitely the best 'jam' band ever. I have Frogwings one and only CD, plus several audio bootlegs... including these shows. Now to find them in video was a pleasant surprise!

I was at the Phiilly Show Too! Remember looking on South Street a week later for the reording. There is a copy out there for the 'Theater of Living Arts'! Also years later got a poster for the Eric Johnson Derek Trucks Show sponsered by 'Electric Factory' @ TLA. Still have the Trippy Poster Signed!!
I loved when jimmy herring and Derek trucks share the stage. It's always magic. Jimmy used to play with the Derek trucks band all the time back then and it was such a treat to see them.
The tune "Feel for You" I believe was initially called "Wind Before the Rain" totally (different lyrics) I heard a recording of Edwin McCain singing it on a bootleg tape I got back in the day. They also played another song called "Eyes give her away" Does anyone know who wrote those songs if anyone has a recording of it I would love to hear it.
