So cute, this was the time I met Lee Majors and Farah Fawcett. They used to come in the grocery store I worked at. This brings back memories of my knees going week when I said hi to Lee. I used to have blond flowing Farah Fawett hair back then. LOL
The idea for this show came about because a few of the Brady characters actually were in a skit on the Donny and Marie Show. It was so well received, that the Brady Bunch Variety Show was put together in a matter of months. It had some similar elements of the D&M Show. They had the ice skaters and the Brady's had the water ballet. Didn't make a whole lot of sense, but not much of 70's variety did. It's still great fun to see!!!
LOL!! "Don't hit me you big bionic bully!!" HA!! I ADORE Lee Majors and that little tuft of hair that hangs down during these scenes, is just TO DIE FOR!!! He's amazing! Honestly, I would do the same things that they did, if I woke up one morning and found Lee Majors sleeping on my couch!! And I ENVY Alice SO much!! That was a long kiss that he gave her...and "Boy Howdy" Though it would have had to have been 40 years ago, if that had been me, I woulda died!! LONG LIVE LEE!!!!!!

Rip Taylor just kills me. That queen tried saying in an interview that he was not gay, and only acted that way because he grew up with mostly woman around.....Mary, please. I saw him at a casino in the 90's and he was only around young pretty guys...Who is she kidding?
During their marriage they both were two of the top stars. They never saw each other. Also, if I'm right he was old fashioned and she was rocketing her way to superstardom. That's why they split. Ryan was not nearly as popular. So he had time to weasle in. He was Lee's good friend, or was supposed to be. Farrah married Lee, not Ryan. She was Farrah Fawcett-Majors never Farrah Fawcett-Oneal.

Just when i think i seen every piece of seventies cheese and this rears up. Another example of a bombed variety show, but yet a prime example of a good Farrah Fawcett appearance, even with the ex bionic hubby. Oh god what a goofball act on Peters behalf.

Of all the male actor's horrific hair mistakes on this episode, Mike Lookinland's is the most egregious - he looks like Sissy Spacek's date in "Carrie", only more wussified.
For the last episode of this unique show, they should have booked Bill Bixby. By the end of the show, if he could make it that long, he would turn into the Incredible Hulk, destroy the hideous sets, and kill everyone.
It wasn't on too long (like 9 or 10 episodes I think). It gained "fame" b/c of 'The Donny and Marie Show' which later on replaced it. **side note** I used to watch the D & M show @ 8:00 pm on Friday nights, then a certain show called TIH came on CBS and the rest is history! *lol* Well, I saw on THS that Eve Plumb's dad was in dispute with the show and didn't want her on. So they wrote her out of the contract. Paris Hilton's mom was one of the 1500 girls who auditioned for the part.

She was a sweet girl. I went to school with her elementary through UT. But, had bad taste in men. She never cheated on her boyfriends, but they cheated on her. Lee was controlling and Ryan was alcoholic and a bad temper. Sad. She deserved better.
@dall123451 Funnily enough, Lee Majors knew Elvis. They played football for fun in the late sixties and Lee used to attend his Vegas shows. Elvis used to kid Lee about his liking for backing singer Kathy Westmoreland. And when a woman slapped Lee at one of Presley's penthouse parties just because she didn't "like his attitude," Elvis took her aside to ask her why she hit him. When he learned she just didn't like him, he gave her a slap and told the bodyguards to "get her out of here!!"
This is really cool for us 70's TV fans to watch NOW. But this must have been really painful to sit through when it first aired. Fortunately, I must have been busy playing ball outside. Thank God nostalgia makes anything fun. I'm sure Eve was quite glad to have opted out of this one.....

@xxcharmed1xx I disagree... Although Lee is/was "hotter" than Ryan, Ryan didn't want to change Farrah. He loved her for whom she was! Lee wanted Farrah to become a stay-at-home mom and wife and was jealous of all her accomplishments as an actress. Something that Ryan never was!
I said Ryan *seemed* better to her...not that he was. Lee was married 4 times. He is no prize. And if Farrah could not tolerate him but could tolerate Ryan..well that says a WHOLE lot.
