This vid is filled with inspiration! Every time I think my beatmaking is becoming a copy paste process I look to your vids for a fresh new look on things. Really appreciate what you do! I buyed the sample pack to show support! Much respect!
That lead in snare is what sets the tone for the rest of the music. You totally crushed the essence of late 80s, early 90s hip hop music with that single piece. Thank you.
I have the MPC beats version because I have the MPC Studio. I did get Gold Dust. Do you have a video using Navie techniques if so I would like to see it using the MPC workflow.
Love your videos! brilliant pacing and always informative. i've been producing for over 5 closer to 10 years and i feel like there's always one, if not multiple things to take away into my own production. really appreciate your videos!
I admire the job, just Bag that Boom Bap Kit and Navie D. Thanks to your videos, I've learned how to produce some passable beats. Please keep inspiring.
some good tips in there! two plugins i like using on my boom bap beats: chow tape model (free, emulates tape machine) and RX950 (not free, emulates Akai S950)
rarely do I want anything *perfectly* quantized but having something play straight is what makes the looser elements feel loose. you need that reference
It would have been silly, Not to get the Pack! 😉 Nice Sounds and super Price. Thank you for your content. Allways comin back to your Channel, allways good vibes here. ✌️ #PEACE
dope! great video! I see you standing while creating. Is your table adjustable? I like that idea to change it up like that. 🔥fellow producer/subscriber here! 🎹keep loving yourself. ✌from Japan 🍣
@@NavieD wished I would’ve made the cut to ur beat making classes but I checked my email a day late and the spot was full by then. Hoping to join in one day. You make things so seamless and effortlessly.
I think the hardest thing people don’t realize is how simple you need to keep things. I’m not perfect by any means I still watch all your vids to learn. I been meaning to get FL though but really just to track out from the SP1200 and ASR10. It seems a lot easier to arrange with a DAW.
Do it man, I’ve been using my MPC just in standalone for a long time and recently started tracking out my beats into FL studio, so quick and easy to arrange stuff, fade in/out sounds etc.. you will not regret
Hey Navie, I'm a big fan of your beatmaking and tutorials. As I'm not in condition of buying drumkits, do you know any free melodic one-shot drumkit for boom-bap? I've been searching for a while and can't find none, always end chopping parts from samples or using Kontakt and I'd really like to add a spice of experimentation to my beats. I'm sorry I can't allow to buy Boom Bap Box, because if I could, I'd definitely do it, I'm a high-schooler from Argentina. Greetings and thank you for reading and your amazing teaching, you're my favorite beatmaking tutorial channel.
Funny thing is the vast majority of boombap and golden era hip hop had totally quantitized drums. Very few people had loose drums until Dilla really popularized the sound.
the boom bap videos have been extremely helpful man. What are your thoughts on using plugins like little alterboy vs. the stock formant shifting in FL? I feel like I can get the job done without 3rd party plugins, but is there a benefit to using a 3rd party formant shifting plugin?
Psst I have a secret to tell you:
www.boombapbox.com
Go here before time runs out!
Peace - I am always down to add sounds, good price too. Is that the expansion pack for $17?
Went to download but didn't see the expansion option
I’m having problems buying the pack. It just won’t let me buy it

am i able to use this on the trial version of FL studio?
You should do a breakdown of certain albums, for example How to make a beat for The Melodic Blue or How to make a beat for Atliens
True. Alot of people do trap album breakdowns. We aren't getting classic hiphop albums.
How to make a bear for J.cole??
Yes that would be really cool
I totally agree, even more with Madlib, J Dilla & MF DOOM albums.
@@meyerdamagician J Dilla for sure, a video on Dilla Time would bang
Benzema for beats
Broooo 😂facts
I can't unsee it 😂😂😂
This is, hands down, the best bap tutorial, and not only that you provide all the sounds! So dope.. take my money
Bought the pack immediately, Goat of overexplained tutorials!!
Subtle off grid kick pattern. Impressive very nice.
Thank you Al!
Let's see Paul Allen's kick pattern

Nobody has a better tutorials for old school beats than this guy
Hey thanks mannnn

That sound design tip is so uffff. You are a true professional.
If you use MPC, the f9 instruments expansion is crucial for this style. The expansion is free if you bought an MPC One or Live 2

Your videos are so good and they just keep getting better. I appreciate the work you do.
The audio cut that you did for the mallet melody can also be done using ghost notes and the "Cut Itself" option
Tell me more how do i make ghost notes? I know the cut itself but what are ghost notes?
I just made a whole tune in an afternoon following these steps - outstanding tutorial!
I find myself watching videos of you over and over again. On god my favorite producer out here on youtube! Keep doing your thing
Finally some Sax samples that are dry! Thanks
Hands down one of your best ever videos. I can hear Jamal from EPMD all over this beat.
I especially love the boombap vids, preeeeciate it, Navie!!
Coppin' that kit asap.
It must be so rewarding to have an artist like Joey rap on your work.
The best video for making boom bap type beat!! Great work!
I purchased your boom bap pack yesterday. It sounds good, I'm looking forward to using it. ✌🏽
can u share it to me please?

If you haven’t already i think it would be cool to break down some industrial hip hop techniques
Amazing! Thanks for you sharing, I was stuck on how to do this style properly.
So many great ideas and concepts! Thanks for sharing so much insight with the community and not gate keeping.

I can't wait for you to use it!
great video as always 💪🏽
It’s been a minute since I watched your videos, good to know it’s still 💯
Duuuuuuuude. You are just great!
Where can one find finished beats you made? I’ve heard the albums but there was no boom bap on there
Just purchased the pack. Dope stuff. Highly recommend.

Stick to using little alterboy for vocals or pitch shifting loops to save CPU
