Shreya started learning at a very young age from Shri Partha Sarathi Desikan with whose guidance, She went on to become a serious practitioner of Indian Classical Music.
She joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy and currently learning under Padmabhusan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty Ji as a senior scholar of the academy.
She stood second in Khayal in The All India Radio competition as well as a B-High grade artist of Akashvani Kolkata.
She has also received the prestigious National Scholarship to young artists by the Ministry of Culture.

The lyrics and music composition of this song are both by Gopal Dasgupta. He happens to be my grandfather. And I do know this for a fact. It would be nice if you could make a correction here. By the way, Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri and Banitirtha Pt. Gopal Dasgupta were lifelong friends. They left East Bengal, and traveled together to reach independent India on 15th August, 1947. Sri Lahiri's first record in Dhaka, 1933, had Gopal Dasgupta as the music director.
