    It shocks me to hear that people of this country want to nationalize and give more control of things to the government. Truly mind blowing.

      I wouldn’t trust this government with R10 in my bank account but that’s not the point. Every time discussions about inequality comes up y’all don’t bring solutions to solving it so until you can come up with a better idea on how to equalise society then socialism is the best solution we got.

    I understood we have partners in brics willing to help us. What scares me with this model. Is that we have seen what has happend in other african countries where china has gave loans for ports and railways and when these loans couldnt be paid back. China takes it over. Now they have a foreign country owning a port of entry. Its not like our government is good a repaying debt. Look at what our local metros debt looks like just to eskom. So what does having these new partners helping us, really mean for south africa?

    • @SibuAndSphe

      BRICS is tricky one but it’s the best option we have to remove our dependence on western capital until SA becomes a super power on the international stage we will always be dependent on others

    • @Thatotherguy803
      @Thatotherguy803 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @SibuAndSphe What scares me is at what cost? Just as an example, we get capital loans from China to obtain the mines and operate them. Now, 30 years of history have shown us how state-owned entities are run and managed. So then, loans don't get paid, and ownership is lost to those providing the loans. Then we're back to where we started, with just new capital replacing old, and while these deals are being made, a few get rich on the backs of the rest of us. That's why it feels us the people are just being used as an excuse for those few to enrich themselves with no real regard for what it really means on the impact on people's lives.

    My worry is that communism is an idea that make sense on paper but doesn't perform well in reality. Around 25 countries tried communism. Decreasing dependency on the us dollar and western investment and increasing trade relations with BRICS partners is the solution to this problem. Being bullied by western capitalist to dictate how we run our country also needs to stop. Russia and China have heavily decreased reliance on western capital so sanctions from the west does not effect them much.

    The idea that Socialism shares wealth amongst everyone is just not true. Which example is there of this happening? China and Russia both have disparities in wealth for the people at the top and bottom. And these are supposed to be the best examples.
    You also spoke about the fact that capitalists are okay with classism, if you look at, China. Russia (not going to include the failed states in attempt to be fair) there is also classism there so it's not an exclusively "capitalist" thing, it's a human nature thing.

    • @SibuAndSphe
      @SibuAndSphe  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There will never be absolute equality and anyone thinking there could be is not being honest there will always be an imbalance in wealth throughout history leaders acquired most of the wealth while the general population got what they could get from the leaders every empire and society operated like this. The idea of socialism is to reduce that gap to an acceptable level basically nobody gets left behind. What you fail to mention is that the poverty rate in Russia is less than 7% while in China it’s less than 2% in a country with over a billion people in it is a ridiculous feat, while in the USA it’s above 10% and rising and in the uk it’s above 20% so based on those numbers clearly one system is better suited to reduce the poverty rate and inequality as opposed to the other.

    • @SibuAndSphe
      @SibuAndSphe  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To respond to your second point like I said as well classism isn’t a bad thing I don’t mind classism based on value brought to society but classism based on race is bad which is something that needs to get fixed in this country

    • @mrlense2078
      @mrlense2078 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @SibuAndSphe Unfortunately those numbers are not really a good representation of something "working". The "poor" people in America are more well off than the poor people in China and Russia. Then there's also discrepancies on how those numbers are actually measured but we don't need to get into that. For example the poor people in SA are better off than the poor people in other African countries even though they all live under poverty. Which according to the logic it shouldn't be the case since we are so "unequal". Hence the poor people in other African countries will migrate to South Africa (the more "unequal" country) over their own country (which is more "equal")

    • @SibuAndSphe
      @SibuAndSphe  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t agree that a poor person is more well off in the states than in China for example you need to look at other things like homeless rates, and starvation rates as well the us and uk have a higher percentage of people who are homeless and face food insecurity, so even though they may have more in terms of income that doesn’t mean they can afford to live in that country. Poor people in China can afford a roof over their heads and food while the states and uk not so much because socialist governments have policies in place to ensure even the poor live in dignity while capitalist governments don’t care about the poor.
