What a wonderful ride! I expected from my vague knowledge of the geography of western Berlin that the latter part of this journey would be semi-rural in character. However I was not expecting the dramatic change which occurred at 18 minutes. Suddenly we were on a narrow road with no buildings and a 30 Kilometers per hour speed limit! It got sightly more urban around Wannsee S-Bahn. But the huge crowd waiting for the bus at that station suggested that more rural delights awaited, and I was not disappointed!
Considering these buses look about 10metres long chasis because there MAN buses the brakes are perfect by the looks that insane buses from 1900s and they still rule the berlin roads 😳 😮
The MAN SD202 is 11,45 metres long. It does not belong to the BVG, but the Traditionsbus Berlin. So I would not say that it rules the roads, with only one of or historic busses running on regular 218 service daily, but can be rather seen as a historic excursion, that can still be experienced in motion.
We have one of our historic busses running in regular bus service on the route 218 every day. It is a excursion/recreational route with scenic views, that brings many people into the green with a special ambience.
