    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Learning automation testing can be exciting for beginners, even with no IT background! Here's how you can break into the field:
      1. Build the Basics:
      Understand Software Testing: Grasp the fundamental concepts of software testing, like manual testing, different types of testing, and test case design. Online resources like tutorials, TH-cam channels, and blogs like [www.ministryoftesting.com/](www.ministryoftesting.com/) can help.
      Learn a Programming Language: Automation testing relies on coding. Python is a popular choice for beginners due to its readability and vast libraries. Start with simple Python courses on platforms like Codecademy or Udemy.
      Get Familiar with Web Technologies: Understand basic web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This knowledge helps interact with web elements during automation testing. Free online courses or interactive tutorials can suffice.
      2. Dive into Automation Tools:
      Pick a Framework: Choose a beginner-friendly automation framework like Selenium WebDriver or Playwright. Online courses and documentation readily available for these tools.
      Start with Simple Scripts: Begin with writing basic scripts to automate simple tasks like opening a website, entering text, and clicking buttons. Practice makes perfect!
      Practice with Open-source Projects: Contribute to open-source projects on platforms like GitHub. This exposes you to real-world testing scenarios and enhances your skills.
      3. Non-IT Specific Tips:
      Focus on Problem-solving: Automation testing is less about coding and more about problem-solving and critical thinking. Hone your analytical skills to identify testing areas and develop effective automation solutions.
      Join Online Communities: Connect with other beginner automation testers in online forums or communities. Ask questions, share your progress, and learn from each other's experiences.
      Participate in Hackathons: Consider participating in online or offline hackathons focused on automation testing. This helps gain practical experience under pressure and learn from mentors.
      Don't let your non-IT background hold you back. Many successful automation testers started from scratch. The key is to start with the basics, practice consistently, and leverage the abundance of learning resources available.
      I hope this helps..

    *sir kya selenium testing ke लिये complete core java ki knowledge honi chahiye* 🙏

    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nahi, Selenium testing ke liye complete core java ki knowledge honi zaroori nahi hai. Lekin, Selenium use karte time aapko kuchh basic java concepts ki jarurat padegi. Jaise:
      OOPs concepts: objects, classes, inheritance, abstraction, encapsulation, aur polymorphism jaise OOPs concepts
      Data types: int, float, double, string, boolean, aur enum jaise data types
      Operators: arithmetic, logical, assignment, relational, aur bitwise operators
      Control statements: if-else, switch, for, while, aur do-while jaise control statements
      Exception handling: exception handling jaisi concepts

    Sir i am from a finance background and i want to automate xero and other repetitive tasks in excel managing report downloading etc. what would be the best strategy or software that would help me in this case for my company in a cost effective manner.

    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As someone from a finance background, automating repetitive tasks in Excel and streamlining financial processes can significantly enhance efficiency. Let's explore some strategies and software options to achieve this:
      1. Microsoft Excel:
      - Excel remains the undisputed leader for automating financial analysis and tasks. Its popularity stems from its intuitive interface, extensive functions, and integration with other Microsoft Office tools.
      - VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) within Excel allows you to create custom macros and automate repetitive actions. You can record macros using the Macro Recorder or write VBA code directly.
      - AutoMacro, an add-in, simplifies VBA coding and reduces the learning curve for beginners⁵.
      - Power Query (also known as M) is another powerful tool within Excel that enables data manipulation and transformation without coding knowledge⁵.
      2. Excel Automation Tools:
      - VBA Macros:
      - Record your actions as VBA code and replay them to automate tasks.
      - While Macros are a great starting point, they have limitations and may require manual adjustments.
      - AutoMacro:
      - An add-in that enhances VBA development by providing access to commonly used code fragments.
      - Makes VBA more accessible to non-programmers.
      - Power Query:
      - Requires no coding knowledge.
      - Easily manipulate and transform data within Excel.
      - Save queries for future use.
      - SQL:
      - Use SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Excel.
      - Python:
      - Leverage Python libraries (such as pandas) to automate tasks and perform complex calculations.
      - Java, C#, and C++:
      - Develop Excel add-ins or custom functions using these languages.
      - D:
      - Explore the excel-d library for Excel automation²⁵.
      3. Xero Automation:
      - For automating tasks specific to Xero, consider using its built-in features or third-party integrations.
      - Explore Xero's API to programmatically interact with Xero data, automate report generation, and manage financial processes.
      - Look for existing Xero add-ons or integrations that cater to your specific needs.
      4. Cost-Effectiveness:
      - Evaluate the cost of each solution:
      - Excel itself is cost-effective if you already have a license.
      - Open-source tools like Python and SQL are budget-friendly.
      - Third-party add-ins may have associated costs.
      - Consider the long-term benefits and time saved when choosing a solution.
      5. Customization:
      - Tailor your approach based on your company's unique requirements.
      - Prioritize solutions that align with your team's skills and expertise.
      Remember, the right strategy depends on your specific use case, company size, and existing infrastructure. Start with the tools you're comfortable with (such as Excel and VBA), and gradually explore other options as needed.

    In automation PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS and RTU if we learn programming like ladder, FBD and ST with graphics creation, these are good or not to get successful in automation

    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, learning programming languages like Ladder, FBD, and ST, as well as graphics creation, is a good way to get successful in automation with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and RTU systems. These are the most common programming languages used in automation, and they are used to program a wide range of devices and systems.
      Ladder logic is a graphical programming language that uses symbols to represent electrical components. It is the most popular programming language for PLCs, and it is relatively easy to learn.
      FBD (Function Block Diagram) is a graphical programming language that uses blocks to represent different functions. It is a more modern programming language than ladder logic, and it is becoming more popular for use with PLCs and other automation devices.
      ST (Structured Text) is a text-based programming language that is similar to C and Pascal. It is the most powerful programming language used in automation, and it can be used to program any type of automation device or system.
      Graphics creation is also an important skill for automation. Graphics are used to create HMI screens, SCADA dashboards, and other user interfaces. Learning how to create graphics will make you a more valuable asset to potential employers.
      In addition to learning programming languages and graphics creation, it is also important to have a good understanding of automation concepts and principles. This includes understanding how PLCs, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and RTU systems work together. There are many resources available online and in libraries to help you learn about automation.
      If you are serious about a career in automation, I recommend that you learn programming languages like Ladder, FBD, and ST, as well as graphics creation. These skills will make you a highly marketable candidate for automation jobs.

      Anthony
      Here are some things you can do if you want to continue using C# for automation on Ubuntu Linux:
      *Use a cross-platform automation framework.* There are many cross-platform automation frameworks available, such as Selenium and Playwright. These frameworks allow you to write automation code in C# and run it on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
      *Use a virtual machine.* You can install Windows in a virtual machine on your Ubuntu machine. This will allow you to run C# automation code on Windows without having to dual-boot your machine.
      *Use a remote machine.* You can also run C# automation code on a remote machine that is running Windows. This is a good option if you need to automate a Windows application that is not available on Linux.

      Whether it is better to learn automation testing on your own or take online classes depends on your individual learning style and preferences.
      If you are a self-motivated learner and you have the time and discipline to study on your own, then learning automation testing by yourself can be a good option. There are a number of free and paid resources available online and in libraries that can teach you about automation testing.
      However, if you prefer to learn in a more structured environment, or if you need help staying motivated, then taking online classes may be a better option for you. There are a number of reputable online education providers that offer automation testing courses.
      Here are some of the pros and cons of each approach:
      **Learning automation testing on your own:**
      * Pros:
      * Free or low cost
      * Flexible schedule
      * Self-paced learning
      * Cons:
      * Can be challenging to stay motivated
      * May be difficult to get help if you get stuck
      * May not be as comprehensive as a formal course
      **Taking online classes:**
      * Pros:
      * Structured learning environment
      * Access to expert instructors
      * More comprehensive coverage of the material
      * Cons:
      * Can be expensive
      * Less flexible schedule
      * May not be able to get personalized attention
      Ultimately, the best way to learn automation testing is the way that works best for you. If you are not sure which approach to choose, I recommend that you try both and see which one you prefer.
      Here are some additional tips for learning automation testing:
      * Start by learning the basics of testing. This includes learning about the different types of testing, test cases, and test scenarios.
      * Once you have a good understanding of testing, you can start to learn about automation testing. There are a number of different automation testing tools and frameworks available, so you can choose one that is appropriate for your needs.
      * Find a mentor or community of automation testers who can help you learn and grow. There are a number of online and offline communities where you can connect with other automation testers.

    Hello brother..
    Which is best. Software testing or sql developer

    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Tamil
      Both software testing and SQL developer are in-demand jobs, and both can be good career choices. However, the best career for you depends on your interests and skills.
      * **Software testing** is the process of finding and fixing errors in software. It involves writing test cases, executing the test cases, and analyzing the results. • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Furkhan
      Both Java and Python are popular programming languages that can be used for Selenium automation testing. However, there are some key differences between the two languages that may make one a better choice for beginners than the other
      Java is a statically typed language, which means that the types of variables and expressions must be declared explicitly. This can make Java code more verbose and difficult to read for beginners. However, Java is also a more mature language with a larger community of developers, which means that there are more resources available for learning Java
      Python, on the other hand, is a dynamically typed language, which means that the types of variables and expressions are inferred from the context. This can make Python code more concise and easier to read for beginners. However, Python is a newer language with a smaller community of developers, which means that there are fewer resources available for learning Python
      Ultimately, the best language for beginners to learn for Selenium automation testing depends on their individual preferences and learning style. If you are comfortable with learning a statically typed language, then Java may be a good choice for you. If you are looking for a more concise and easy-to-read language, then Python may be a better choice
      Here are some additional factors to consider when choosing between Java and Python for Selenium automation testing:
      * Job market: Java is more widely used in the enterprise world, so there are more job opportunities for Java developers. However, Python is becoming increasingly popular, so the job market for Python developers is growing.
      * Learning resources: There are more resources available for learning Java than Python. However, the quality of Python resources is improving, and there are now many good books and tutorials available.
      * Community: The Java community is larger than the Python community. This means that there are more people available to help you if you get stuck. However, the Python community is very active and helpful
      *
      I hope this helps

    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright are all great automation tools, but they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Here is a brief overview of each tool:
      * **Selenium:** Selenium is a free and open-source automation framework that supports a wide range of browsers and programming languages. It is a good choice for beginners because it is easy to learn and there are many resources available online. However, Selenium can be complex to set up and use, and it can be difficult to debug tests
      * **Cypress:** Cypress is a newer automation framework that is built on top of Selenium. It is designed to be easier to use than Selenium, and it provides features like automatic waits and assertions that can help to reduce the time it takes to write and maintain tests. Cypress is also a good choice for teams that are using React or Vue.js, as it has built-in support for these frameworks
      * **Playwright:** Playwright is a newer automation framework that is developed by Microsoft. It is designed to be fast, reliable, and easy to use. Playwright supports a wide range of browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. It also supports a variety of programming languages, including JavaScript, Python, and C#.
      So, which tool should you choose? If you are a beginner, I would recommend starting with Cypress. It is easy to learn and use, and it provides a good balance of features and performance. If you are already familiar with Selenium, you may want to consider switching to Cypress or Playwright. These newer frameworks offer a number of advantages over Selenium, including improved performance, easier test writing, and better support for modern web technologies.
      No matter which tool you choose, I recommend that you start by learning the basics of automation testing. There are a number of resources available online that can help you with this, including tutorials, articles, and books. Once you have a good understanding of the basics, you can start learning the specific features of the tool you have chosen.
      I hope this helps

      The HTML code you provided does not have any attributes that would cause a new window to open when the button is clicked. The button has an icon and a tooltip, but there is no attribute that specifies that the button should open a new window.
      If you want the button to open a new window, you can add the `target="_blank"` attribute to the button element. This attribute tells the browser to open the linked URL in a new window.
      For example, the following HTML code would open a new window when the button is clicked:
      ```html
      Below is the html from start for those buttons
    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  ปีที่แล้ว
      The problem you are facing is that the tooltip is being displayed over the button, and the Selenium code is trying to click on the tooltip instead of the button.
      To fix this, you can use the `.getAttribute()` method to get the value of the tooltip. Then, you can use the `.click()` method to click on the button by its value.
      For example, the following code will click on the button with the tooltip value "Clear Filters":
      ```
      WebElement button = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//p-button[@ptooltip='Clear Filters']"));
      String tooltipValue = button.getAttribute("ptooltip");
      button.click(tooltipValue);
      ```
      This code will first get the value of the tooltip for the button. Then, it will use the `.click()` method to click on the button by its value.
      You can also use the `.sendKeys()` method to send the value of the tooltip to the button. This will cause the tooltip to disappear, and then the Selenium code will be able to click on the button.
      For example, the following code will send the value of the tooltip "Clear Filters" to the button:
      ```
      WebElement button = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//p-button[@ptooltip='Clear Filters']"));
      String tooltipValue = button.getAttribute("ptooltip");
      button.sendKeys(tooltipValue);
      ```
      This code will first get the value of the tooltip for the button. Then, it will use the `.sendKeys()` method to send the value of the tooltip to the button. This will cause the tooltip to disappear, and then the Selenium code will be able to click on the button.
    • @RaghavPal
      @RaghavPal  ปีที่แล้ว +1
      Hi
      The error message you are getting is because the `chromedriver` executable is not compatible with Java 19. The `chromedriver` executable is a program that allows Selenium to control Chrome browsers. It is updated frequently to support new versions of Chrome.
      To fix this error, you need to download the latest version of the `chromedriver` executable that is compatible with Java 19. You can find the latest version of the `chromedriver` executable on the ChromeDriver website: chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads.
      Once you have downloaded the `chromedriver` executable, you need to save it to a directory that is in your Java classpath. You can find your Java classpath by running the following command in a terminal:
      ```
      java -classpath
      ```
      This command will print a list of directories that are in your Java classpath. You need to save the `chromedriver` executable to one of these directories.
      Once you have saved the `chromedriver` executable to a directory in your Java classpath, you should be able to run your Selenium tests without any errors.
      Hi Bharathi
      Taking an automation testing course can definitely improve your skills and increase your chances of getting a job in the field of automation testing. However, it's important to note that completing a course alone does not guarantee a job. There are several factors that come into play when seeking employment, including your skills, experience, market demand, and competition.
      Here are a few things to consider to enhance your job prospects after completing an automation testing course:
      1. Practical Experience: While theoretical knowledge gained from a course is valuable, practical experience is highly sought after by employers. Try to gain hands-on experience by working on real-world projects, contributing to open-source projects, or participating in internships.
      2. Build a Portfolio: Create a portfolio of your automation testing projects to showcase your skills and demonstrate your capabilities to potential employers. Include details about the projects you have worked on, the tools and frameworks you used, and the results you achieved.
      3. Networking: Connect with professionals in the automation testing field through online platforms, industry events, and local meetups. Networking can provide you with valuable insights, job opportunities, and mentorship.
      4. Continuous Learning: Automation testing is a rapidly evolving field, and it's crucial to stay updated with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices.       Hi
      There are many resources available to help you learn automation testing, both online and offline. Here are a few suggestions:
      * **Online courses:** There are many online courses available that can teach you the basics of automation testing. Some popular options include TH-cam, Udemy, Coursera, and Pluralsight.
      * **Online forums and communities:** There are many online forums and communities where you can ask questions and get help from other automation testers
      Once you have learned the basics of automation testing, you can start practicing by automating some of the tests that you currently perform manually. This will help you to get a feel for how automation works and to identify the benefits of automating your tests
      As you gain experience with automation testing, you can start to develop your own automation frameworks and tools. This will allow you to automate more complex tests and to scale your automation efforts
      Automation testing is a valuable skill for any software tester. By learning automation testing, you can improve the quality of your software and make your work more efficient
      Here are some additional tips for learning automation testing:
      * **Start small.** Don't try to automate your entire test suite all at once. Start by automating a few simple tests and then gradually add more tests as you get more comfortable with automation.
      * **Use a test automation framework.** A test automation framework will make it easier to manage your automation tests and to keep them up to date.
      * **Document your automation tests.** Documenting your automation tests will make it easier to maintain them and to understand how they work.
      * **Get feedback from others.** Ask other automation testers for feedback on your automation tests. This will help you to improve your automation skills and to identify any potential problems with your tests
