Kson is half Japanese, if I'm not mistaken kanade isn't even half. Which is nice, because we can see that the criteria Cover is using these days is not nationality itself, but entirely the language and whether it can perform the function of the "project"
i know Fuwamoco also auditioned for the JP side first before getting accepted for Advent, so it seems like they only need you to be fluent enough in Japanese
Poor Kanade. Being completely bowled over by casual native Japanese is very relatable, I'm learning it now and hearing most streamers talking still hits my ears like a constant buzz where I can only catch one word or another and a few particles. (Anyone curious, listen to an M134 Gatling firing. Does its noise sound like individual gunshots to you?) It's nice to have such accommodating senpai willing to hold back on vocabulary and speech speed.
Keep it up. We're all gonna make it. I can right now very comfortably listen to I'd say more than half of hololive, especially the ones that enunciate everything very clearly like Suisei or Marine, even when they speak fast as hell. If you want some extra listening material, look up the 文化放送V&R playlists. They have ~130 podcast episodes for hololive each lasting about 20+ minutes if I recall correctly, and then there's Suisei's radio section with Tadokoro Azusa which also has 130 episodes, each lasting about 30 mins. There's also a lot of other content in there in regards to vtubers, but these are the hololive ones I've listened to. While that's nowhere near enough content to get you up to speed with their speaking speed, it's still a pretty good resource if you're into Hololive. Since these are podcasts, they're audio only, which means you're constantly practicing your listening ability with near 0 downtime. The con is that, unlike livestremas, there are no visual cues to help you in understanding. But with that in mind, the way they speak, knowing the listening has to understand everything by audio only, means that they also phrase things differently, so it may even be easier to understand them at times this way.
Suisei's mom is a bilingual, so it's possible she's grown up to be more sympathetic to people who are still learning new languages. That's so nice of them, and it honestly can't be easy when they're in the heat of the moment
i prefer if the translator just left it as 'unko level', its much funnier and cuter and matches kanade more than "crap". anyone that watches vtubers know what 'unko' is, and if they dont, they will eventually. glad the industry is slowly getting rid of low effort AI translations though
so the reason she speak so slow but so loud because she cant speak japanese like a native but in same time want what she's saying to be clear to other ppl
the one who """struggles"" with fast japanese is in the gen with the one thats hardest to understand even for native japanese wonder how much of Hajime she understands and how much its just "so desu ne"
I can confirmed Kanatan talk too fast, cause I've ever try to clip one of her stream. For non-native speaker as me, it's really hard to pay attention how fast and difficult language while she talk.
Please Kanade, keep talking slow, you are a godsend to Japanese learners
Almost forgot that Kanatan is from Kansai, and she could speak even more faster. What an angel.
I hope she never changes in her speed even when she gets more fluent, because it's hilarious.
Heyy thats bad but good
She's the only instance where using 1.25x speed sound perfectly natural.
i dint know kanade was not japonese, now make sense why she speak like that hahaha, I love kanade and kanata
Korean I believe.
She is probably Korean. Maybe Ao-kun and Ririka too. Not sure.
@@jive7391 No they aren't. Where the hell that even come from
@@rdwn1999 Chill, there's a reason why there's a "maybe". You probably don't even know for sure.
I think it's awesome a non-native JP speaker gets to join a JP group, much like Coco

Just like Bae got to EN branch, it’s so wholesome how much Hololive give them the chance
@@bakawkawkAs I understand, that's onky part of it. To be part of JP, one requires an address in Japan.
@@velveteensallet949 but kanade didn't have an address in japan, she was residing in korea prior to moving to jp ~2months(?) ago

meanwhile her 3 genmates speaks so fast. and 1 is super fast hahahahahahhaa
To be fair, Kanade is surprisingly fluent in Japanese for such a young non-native speaker. Sure, her speech is slow but it adds to her cuteness 😊
Cute clip, Kanata and Suisei being good senpai's
KanaKana (Kanata, Kanade) sounds great, hopefully they be friends.
if Coco were still here, we could of gotten CocoCoco or MococoCoco
I look forward to seeing Kanade advance in her Japanese. She’s already sounding more natural these days. Her pace is better.
but kanade slow pace is part of her charm. hopefully she maintains that pace even when she become more fluent.
Aww must be nice having your senpai to be so kind
