Honestly, this conversation needed to be had. Artistes are ruining things for afrobeats by being unfair in their pricing. Some don’t show up either, even after being paid. And, I am surprised that they spoke so highly of UBI here, so I might just struggle to agree me that he isn’t a bad person, because UBI is the reason we can’t have any afrobeats events featuring any artistes in Gloucester currently. His handling of that matter ruined the livelihoods of at least three promoters and the effects are really hard to quash. It’s fine though, we all want the best for our culture and our pockets so, let’s do better. I agree with Oga Paulo about the aspect of doing shows for our OGs. Tried it with Terry G in Birmingham this year, people really loved it. Wanted to do it with Iyanya in Gloucester but as I said earlier m, UBI messed it up with poor communication.
