But they you look at the woman you love who was about to be in tears because she has a medical condition, and it will turn you from being pissed into going into action. If the Academy does nothing, they are culpable in any violence that occurs in the future. In essence, they'd be okay with anyone attacking someone at their venue. Say a man actor attacks a woman comedian in the same way, or how about a crowd fight. Make no mistake about it, Chris Rock was struck hard by a trained actor in physical combat roles. What I really think is going on is Mr. Smith's strained relationship with his wife. It's been going on for years with two out of control kids-that they play off as creative.
