    OUR HOMESCHOOL LIFE -
We definitely have an eclectic homeschool style.
There are so many wonderful resources available for homeschoolers it is hard to fit them all in! I love to mix up our days with classical educational materials and beautiful Charlotte Mason / Waldorf inspired resources.
We love unit studies because it allows us to use many different amazing resources! Filling our homeschool life with beauty, literature, mythology, and inspiring stories is the best.
Having fun and learning in this atmosphere hopefully inspires my daughter to live a life filled with curiosity, whimsy and as many books as she can read

For planning, What helps me is:
    1. I grab all my homeschool resource books and make a checklist of all the topics/lessons I have not covered for the previous grade.
    2. Make a checklist of all the topics/lessons I need to cover for the current grade. I divide the topics by subject.
    3. Then I combine both lists and divide those lessons up by the 4 seasons. I make sure to prioritize fundamental lessons from the previous year.
    4. Then I divide those 4 seasons of lessons by weeks. I’m the beginning of each month I grab 4 folders (one for each week)
    5. Then I browse books/worksheets etc for each week and start printing and placing page flags on the pages I’ll need. Each week has a folder and I place inside the worksheets and a list of books I’ll be using so I don’t forget.
    5. When recording for the day, I only record what was actually completed. This helps me avoid planning lessons in advance that I don’t get to. And it helps me easily roll over what we didn’t get to.
Depending on how far behind i get Sometimes I may have to make decisions to either rollover a fun item to make room for something fundamental or I save the fun item for the weekend during our downtime.
I hope this helps! DM me if you need help with anything! ❤

This was a great video, jam-packed with information. I appreciate the "chat" and hearing your thought process. Personally, I find the conversational style to be very helpful and inviting.

We also utilize our library heavy, which leads to a number of purchases for us. One being The Know Nonsense Grammar! My son checked it out multiple times and I finally ordered his own copy!

Thanks for the shout-out! Funny, I am in exactly the same place as you with with The Well Trained Mind…just borrowed it from the library and then decided I needed it, after dismissing it a few years ago!

I loved your monthly updates! I always love the next shiny thing as well. My children aren't even old enough to homeshool yet and I already feel like I have too much planned. 😬🙈😂
