I've always loved lightbars with clear lenses and colorized lightning. I wonder when this model of the Twinsonic was introduced, must've been early 80's.
Do not do that. LED bulbs will not work as warning, and the motors are not upgradable. LED bulbs for display are okay if you want, but it won’t flash with a “pop” they way it’s designed to. The motors are specific to the light and are not interchangeable with any other motor without extreme modification.
@@doranbaltus I believe led's would because all they are is smaller head lights. Compared to the original motors the motors of today are much more efficient and it's like changing a light bulbs. Take one motor out and put new motor in, simple! I'm also considering projector lamps.Calm down and breath I don't want to change the basic configuration of the light bar.
@@SgtkodeI’m telling you that LED bulbs will not work due to the way LEDs cast light. LEDs cast light in one single direction, and there’s no central focal point as there is in a filament bulb, so there is no “pop” within the flash that will occur due to there being no focused focal point of light. This applies to any replacement LED bulbs you could put into the original fixtures. And the motors are specific to the gears and gear cage, so they are not readily replacing without heavy modification. And don’t tell me to calm down. I’m not uncalm. You just have a bad idea and I’m telling you it’s a bad idea. Don’t get mad that someone is disagreeing with you.
@@doranbaltus I'm not mad at all. I have yet to hear you say you tried it. Do you know there are millions of emergency vehicle's with LED light bars. Don't tell me something won't work until I try it.
@@Sgtkode I’ve seen multiple people try it and I’ve dealt with it in person multiple times in a variety of applications. I speak from a place of knowledge and experience when I say it won’t work. Comparing retrofitted rotating lights with LED-designed lightbars is a false equivalency, because rotating lightbars were not designed for LED lights, and LED lightbars were specifically designed for LEDs.
Sounds like the chains are loose and slapping the frame. To fix that crack the bolts holding the rotators and move them outboard slightly. Don't make it so the chain is tight though. Leave the chains a little loose because they need a small amount of slack to operate correctly. If the chain is too stretched you might have to take a link out. But otherwise it a really nice bar.

Great lightbar. I know what I want for Christmas!
Nice.. I love a clear lens.. they match alot of roof
Thanks for this video. Exactly
how it should be done. Overhead then straight on.
I would like to update a light bar with LED bulbs and a modern motor. They used to much power back in the day, but you definitely saw them.

I looking for those clear lenses
I always thought if you had a different lense front and back somehow the light color wouldn't look right. Wow was I wrong
Love it!
I am curious about the relay doing the alternating flash. Can you tell me what the model is? I have been told they used Tunsol 537's.
They used the Tungsol 537s in the AeroTwin for certain, but this bar I believe has a Wagner 537.
Me ajude a conseguir um desse ,.seria possível enviar para o Brasil. ....
