    Thanks so much for this. I've watched countless BP videos from lots of excellent channels looking for detailed size/weight/age info. The best videos I found would show at most 3 examples, and the descriptions were usually a bit vague. This video is SO much more detailed than anything else I found. Exactly the info I was looking for. Excited to watch lots more from this channel!

    My bp boy is at 732gm right now at 11 months. Feeding weans once a week. I got him as a hatchling last August. The breeder told me to feed rat pups every 5 days. He was gaining quick and getting chunky. The local reptile shop was wondering why I kept buying rats so frequent and til January, Told me to feed only once a week until he’s 1, then every 2 weeks from there. He’s turning 1 next month, I’m gonna then step him up to small rats every 2 weeks. I hope all the rat pup power feedings before don’t have any consequences down the early roads. Boy eats like a champ too

    • @WarfelsMorphs
      @WarfelsMorphs  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I feed rat pups once a week until they hit about 200-300g. Then once they hit that weight I switch them to an appropriately sized rat every 2 weeks. Everybody does feeding differently. But a rat pup for an animal that size is really under feeding it in my opinion. Rat pups are good for babies and hatchlings. But for an animal that is by all rights basically an adult at that size wasn’t getting the proper nutrition. Pups are like eating a stick of butter lol good for getting babies started and getting weight on them. But there’s not enough “good” nutrition for a snake that size. The smalls once every 2 weeks is what he needs. By about 500 - 600g I’m normally feeding smalls or larger sized weaned rats. Thanks for watching and hope this helped! Good luck with your boy!

    Wild. Thanks for the video. I have a 2 year old male that's also 1500 grams. The breeder confirmed the snake's sex in front of me when I bought him, but I was second-guessing whether he might not be a female since he's so big and not obese at all.

    • @WarfelsMorphs
      @WarfelsMorphs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      1500 grams is what I’d say about an average size for a male. If he confirmed the sex in front of you there’s no reason to second guess it.

      @cristianespinal9917 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @WarfelsMorphs  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s actually a great idea for a video! I’ll try to get that done up asap and put it out on the channel for you. It’s not a simple easy answer honestly. Do your research for sure watch the videos in my breeding series play list on the channel as well. I recommend buying your females first and after a year of them growing up then buy a power house male that works with what ever project you decide to work with. You may want to look into the membership option on the channel. There’s 3 different tiers but the top tier you get a lot of perks plus a members only live stream which may come in handy for you when it comes to all the nitty gritty questions you may have. I’ll get to work asap on the video covering a breeding startup and setup.

    My female I bought unsexed is around 11 months to turning a year any time now. The LPS didn’t have a date of birth or gender for her. Pastel ball python I got for $100 she was easily under 200 grams when I got her in July . 26-28 inches. Is she on par for a pet non breeder? She currently weighs 560 grams putting on 90 grams in just the last 2 weeks

    • @WarfelsMorphs
      @WarfelsMorphs  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each snake will grow differently just like people. Weights sound about right. I have 1 year old females that are almost breeding weight and then siblings that are a little over half that weight. They all grow differently. But as long as they look like a healthy weight I wouldn’t worry about it.

    • @WarfelsMorphs
      @WarfelsMorphs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a video on here that goes over the size of prey to feed your ball python so make sure to watch that. I feed that’s about as big as the thickest part of their body. As far as age without seeing it I can’t honestly tell you that plus that’s the downside of buying from a pet store like pet smart you don’t really know what you’re getting. Message me on IG if you have any more questions and make sure to check out some of my videos on ball python care and feeding.
