tassie has so many historic building that i hope they never knock down. i lived in Tasmania all my life and i have so much interest in them that i study them alot.
7:16 the huge white facade has since been removed from the now closed Glasser & Parker store and renovated to the original picture theatre facade that'd been covered over since 1970. That building just along from it was originally Connors Department Store, closed in 1995, became Spotlight, closed a few years back and was taken over by Hillsong Church, they also vacated it, currently abandoned and will be demolished to make way for a 12 storey building.
Just come back from a holiday in Tassie, staying in Hobart….loved the state and capital….the countryside is on another level….yep I’m returning to the north in 2028…..worst thing for my wife and I….the 45 hour journey back to our home on the other side of the world, but yeah I’d do it again in a heartbeat….Tassie is special….people really nice as well.
I live in Hobart, it's a quaint little city ruined by parked cars, multi lane roads which isolate the city from the waterfront and you don't get a decent view from yet another car.
@matt It's usually a joke but some people are just bitter about historical issues to do with Tasmania, but this is historical and just has lingering effects sadly
@@aiizenfreestylemw7401Now in Provence Verte a nice wine growing region not too touristic, where Clooney, Pitt, and George Lucas have vineyards, we haven't seen them as yet, but they are close by!
@@axelbohmer2542 Yes its a good country for food healthcare and regions to visit. I've had unfortunately for the past 6 years an incurable cancer and need therapy, and are taken by taxi free of cost to all my appointments, a fortnightly one is two hrs from us in Nice. We are currently living in Provence Verte, a wine growing region near a town where a French explorer was born who discovered a part of Tasmania Bruny D'Entrecasteaux, his chateau is only about 10k from our home!
Great video of my old home town. Thank you.
Although some of those illegal turns had me cringing.

Interesting videos. Some of the lane changes in this video were a bit too creative though.
One-way roads, the road engineering is so bad, all the highways are funnelled into the centre with multi-lane stroads

Hermosa ciudad
Do you remember what day of the week was when went around?
Good to see again, we left 20 years ago to live in The South of France; it hasn't changed too much in the downtown area, I am pleased, Thanks!
Not too much. Although the Spotlight has been turned into a bloody Hillsong church which is a bit of a worry!
And do you feel more comfortable in france?
Où ça

Ого.Тасмания.😮
I didn’t know Hobart was that big 😮 it looks bigger than Perth.
Perth is bigger than Hobart
I love the city tasssie. it's so beautiful. BTW can I have the picture of the car you was driving?
Tasmania (Tassie) is a State, not a city …….. Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania
Looking for a job in tassie. Once, I got an offer, I'll move there.
Id love to live there too!!! I love Hobart.
The classical buildings are beautiful; the modern ones need to be razed!
It Was amazing 20 years ago. It’s been kind of ruined by tourism.
Perspective
Honestly the city is way better than it was 20 years ago
@@TheTheTheTheTheThe How so?
I think the overseas architects of the buildings were thinking it was in Tanzania, Africa.
It’s like Cardiff but with better condition roads.
Beautiful city 💗 from Bangladesh

what a shame, you did aaaalll that driving and completely missed Battery Point. Bummmmaaaa.

Rarely warm, righto champ. Summers are beautiful, mid 20’s to 30’s
That was some very bad driving. So many road rules broken in such a short time. Suprised tou didnt have people blowing their horns at you constantly.
Why no sound. I was expecting funny accents and the odd scream since you’re driving on the wrong side of the road.
I think the roads in Australia are English, that is, the opposite of most countries

I’d like to visit my mothers hometown. Hopefully this year
