- The Welsh Guards aren't always guarding the King at Buckingham Palace. Their operational role takes them across the globe - recently they've been on exercise in Jamaica, training in one of the world's most unforgiving environments.

Every school in the UK should be fully Infantry trained by the age of 18. Just carrying 25% of the weight required
I’m in the CCF (Combined Cadet Force) at my school some schools do do it

@@sebby324 Vastly dominated by private schools though, out of the 3500 state schools only 60 have a CCF. That being said many people at state schools do have access to an AFC (or equivalent) but they are no where near as popular as CCF is and less accessible.
Neither of these organsiations get you anywhere near being "fully infantry trained" though, and don't cover most of the syllabus to pass basic infantry training that all soliders are required to go through. I think they are certainly benefical for the people who choose to take part in such cadet organsiations but they aren't of any use to the armed forces though
@@bog123 I'd argue involvement in a CCF is actually incredibly useful if you wish to join the military. A Cadet Force teaches you discipline, leadership, uniform standards, drill, first aid, weapons handling and tactics, all of which give you a boost over other recruits in basic.
@@joshuahicks4574 No yeah it definitely allows those who have done it to certainly have a confidence boost in the early stages of training but it becomes irrelevant terribly quickly. But at the same time there's a reason people are told to not say they were a cadet when in training and it's cause they will be made to do everything or give demonstrations as they already have an idea of what to do. But unfortunately the experience they have from being in said cadet forces doesn't extend very far into actual training, which is to be expected as they aren't part of the army, it's a bunch of kids - young adults having fun, learning some good skills and developing themselves on the side but in a military context

Well Grenada gained independence in 1974 from UK , few years after Communism took hold hence 9 YEARS AFTER UK gave Grenada independence it was invaded .. soo ur point is pointless

Anyone from a Commonwealth Realm can enlist. For Americans, they usually have to have prior military experience, and ideally in an on-demand role.
