I saw this in 1975 and the loud sigh was frankly disturbing. It still has kept it's ability to scare and if true it is one of the chilling pieces of paranormal activity claimed to have been recorded. Amazing to see it again.

Remember watching this when it came on the TV way back then, was very scary, and possibly the scariest thing on TV for years, these blokes are well respected people and not like the shite Most Haunted fakery. Great to see and hear this again, and yes its still scary... thanks

I remember seeing a clip of this on a Danny Baker show when I came home from university while my dad was dying.
It's a very evocative piece of film, ghost or no ghost (at those sighs have more power than all the special effects anyone could come up with).

As a team who do this 47 years later it's fascinating to see a basic investigation.
Yes, we use all modern technology, however, it's essential that teams still continue to simply sit, listen and have a conversation.
All too often, taps, footsteps or faint movements are dismissed but, maybe this is all the energy a spirit has to show they are there?
    Great clip. Thanks for sharing.👻👻

My mother grew up in a Victorian house and there were several happenings that could not be explained. As a young woman, she actually encountered a woman dressed in Victorian widows weeds. It terrified her as the woman was clearly distressed. She never felt comfortable afterwards and moved out soon after. My Grandmother lived on in the property until the late 70's. I used to visit and I loved the place, very atmospheric. Only one room gave me chills at the top of the house. I found out years later, that this room was were my Mum encountered the "spirit". So I would never dismiss the exsistenc of ghosts.

Imagine sitting in an old church all night with the lights out? Someone with no prior knowledge walks in, in the morning, and finds a line of middle aged men in sheepskin jackets just sitting there. Weirder than any ghost.

It's interesting to note that all the investigators witnessed the "tiny points of light" by the curtains and heard the loud "thump." Not the delusion of senses of one person. Quite spooky if I do say so.

Scary, and, I think, sincere. My ex-wife experienced frightening things in a house she bought which, although she did not know it until later, was widely believed to be haunted. I myself heard things at night in that house which scared me, but they were not as bad as some of the things she and many family witnesses heard and felt. I was able to identify one particular location on the property which felt most problematic, and when I told her she told me that that was where the particular event which was commonly associated with the haunting, an event about which I had heard nothing until then, had taken place. A couple weeks after buying the place and experiencing these things, her dad and a posse from his church came and prayed in the name of Jesus that the place would be cleansed from bad spirits. This actually seems to have worked, although my experiences in the place were later than that, but, as I said, they were not nearly as bad as the things experienced by multiple witnesses before the prayer session. Knowing my ex-wife, and the fact that it was completely out of character for her to claim to experience strange, paranormal things, and also knowing the other family members, and having experienced the things I experienced, I am entirely convinced that the place was genuinely haunted.

Ghost hunting in its early stages! It's fascinating to listen to the team's findings - excellent EVPs included - and all captured on a very basic tape recorder! I wonder what they'd have thought/they think about the sophisticated electronic equipment used nowadays: eg: the spirit box, ovilus etc. It was interesting to hear a residual haunting being described towards the end of the video - a term which wasn't current in those days.

    • @kelrogers8480
      @kelrogers8480 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

A spirit box is not *sophisticated* for goodness sake. It picks up frequencies from radio stations, hence random disconnected words and phrases that the *ghost hunter* shoehorns into the narrative.

"Echo of a past life?" I never thought about that this way.
Maybe the nun, or woman, or whoever else she is - maybe she's living off her own life, somehow back in time and is hearing voices, seeing figures and so on. Maybe she's thinking the men came there to investigate are ghosts themselves. Maybe she's even praying for those "lost souls"...

Far, far more credible an experience than all the modern day ghost hunting video tripe of today’s standards. Just a shame the recording equipment back then wasn’t as good as today’s tech.
The modern day ghost hunters, and there’s many hundreds of them on TH-cam have driven any possible credibility surrounding the subject deep into the ground due to the nonsense fake trash that gets produced today.

It's truly easy to gather EVPs/ITC in one's own spaces. Tbh - tho it may seem silly - I believe positive thoughts and good vibes create the best outcome - with a relaxed, unforced presence.

@@grumpygramps1451 Sorry for delay, was to busy never checked. Yes when I was 27 working at STL Laboratory’s in Harlow Geoff was working there in the store’s, he showed a book on Borley Rectory.
He new that I was interested in Psychic Phenomena and had experienced a phenomena before.
The idea was to see for ourselves wether the entity had truth, all if things were still happening.
To cut a long story short the recording ( of which I have the original ). I am not sure how this came to the ear of a BBC film producer/writer of what we were doing in Borley Church and contacted Geoff to listen to the tape for authenticity, he proved that it had not been tampered with. His name was D Densham, not sure on the spelling, and asked if he could accompany us with more more professional equipment.
He visited Borley a number of times and on the third visit we stayed locked in the church were a number of things occurred, we felt the entity join us, the atmosphere became extremely cold as it passed through the 3 of us, then something was thrown at us , followed by strange spectacle’s of light, I think I have a tape of this occasion.
I would like to mention here that the first set of equipment refused to work although it was checked on entry. The second recorder had it’s tape pulled out.
I could go on for weeks about the things going on at Borley over a period of five years, the research we carried out, library’s, Euston University were the Harry Price museum is housed, people, church yards, houses that we visited to find more information about the Bull family, The Forster Family, past occupants of the Rectory.
I am 80 years old now although I don’t look it, and still researching, not Borley though, more things did go on at Borley than I have mentioned here, but the visits was not to convince others it was to prove to ourselves , not mention to be shared.
In the end Peter Underwood got wind of it, we then visited him at the Ghost club in London, he was interested in what we had achieved. We are mentioned in his book The Ghosts of Borley, you can also Google Roy potter.
Hope you enjoy, and I can honestly say there was no pulling of strings behind curtains.

People can easily have their senses and imagination stimulated with little
    Actual tangible evidence .

are made for entertainment rather than actual scientific research .
