    This is the BEST tutorial I've watched so far!!!! You are a great teacher. Thank you! Yesterday I spent hours to make a sticker having no internet connection, being bored to death in a Frozen South Texas suburb. I couldn't figure out what to do with those holes without a tutorial to watch. . One clicks on all things but cannot understand what they mean and what they do. Like ...Linked Offset.. not when one is 56 yo and a self taught beginner :)) Now the power is back and so is the internet and I am watching you teaching all this and fixing my sticker.. Thank you!

    Awesome tutorial! You can also lock the image/words and resize. That way you won’t have to worry about holding down the control key.

    Thanks for this. I recently decided to add downloadable sticker sheets (for circuit and cricket) to my etsy shop but don't own a machine. So this is a huge help, especially since most of my designs are in inkscape.

    Hopefully a helpful tip! Make sure you have the Align and Distribute feature in your sidebar. This will help your colored image be perfectly aligned on the black and white image. You'll find the feature in Objects all the way at the bottom. When using the Align and Distribute feature, make sure you've selected the drop down menu to say Last Selected. Click on your colored image, then shift + click on the black and white image. Then go to Align and Distribute and select the ">|

    Can you make stickers without inscape, just with your cricut?

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can but I find it a lot harder to get the white border. You can put a basic circle or square around it in design space.

    Great tutorial. You did awesome. So I have a question I want to combine words with an image and I tried hitting union and well it did nothing. It won't become 1 unless I group. Then when I hit offset it doesn't have the diamond. Do you have an easy way to help me do this?

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you change the text to a path? Also is the image an svg?

    • @antoinettenickler4203
      @antoinettenickler4203 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kaitlinlimmer9490 the image was an svg I did follow your instructions. I think I figured it out. So my other question is if I am combining text and images do the images have to be svg? You are awesome thank you for responding so quickly

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the images aren’t svgs they won’t have a transparent background. Not sure if that answers your question. Sorry for the delayed response

    Can you tell me if there is a setting that tells me how big my offset is so I have the same setting for all my stickers?

    I am very much a Cricut beginner. How do you use Inkscape and Cricut together?

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inkscape allows you to make your own svg files and import them into cricut

  • @shannonberry7968

    Help! I'm so frustrated! I followed your tutorial word-by-word and step-by-step, and my saved images look great in Inkscape, but in Preview there is a light grey box around the image and in Cricut a translucent white box is around the image. I have no idea why this is happening. Any thoughts? If I save the image as an SVG it's fine, but then of course, it's layered and not the print and cut sticker I'm looking for. I'm not an expert user of Inkscape by any stretch of the imagination and most of what I do is via tutorials, so any advice at all is appreciated.

    • @shannonberry7968
      @shannonberry7968 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, not sure how, but I fixed this problem! Yay! I have no idea what the issue was, but I am going to chock it up to a glitch. But now I can't get DS to print my images to my printer. When I hit Send to Printer, all that is printed on the page is the black sensor mark/box even though I can see the images on the page on the screen. I'm told this is a DS glitch. I'm so sad!

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490

      Glad you figured it out. Maybe try restarting design space?! I hope you get it figured out!

    The offset doesn’t give a black diamond ive tried different images so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using an svg? If you are using a png or jpeg image it won’t give a black diamond. They have to be changed to an svg and have paths and nodes.

  • @jojograce00

    these steps do not seem to be working for me at all. I am literally going back and following step by step... was there an upgrade or change in the program since this was done? I can get the font one to work, but not the image ones. even with a SVG file. :(

    • @kaitlinlimmer9490
      @kaitlinlimmer9490  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The image file may have too many layers. If it is grouped it won’t work. You have to union it to one path.
