    Overall Impression: I like Factor, but I think I favor Purple Carrot just because they are an all plant-based service and have WAY more vegan options. But I do like some of the Factor Add-Ons a lot so I don't know... think I may alternate between the two for awhile.
    Date Delivered: May 11, 2022
    Price Paid: Purple Carrot pre-made meals are $12.99 each (plus tax). Factor pre-made meals are $12 (plus taxes and shipping). The prices are a bit cheaper if you go with some of their other plans though...

    This thing sucks. It made me enter in my payment info before I could see the menu. Then when I did that, it only had 2 vegan options for a 14 meal plan. No use. I’ll try purple carrot I guess

      Yeah, I wasn’t impressed. I’m sticking with purple carrot until I have the time / skills to start planning and shopping for my own meals.

      Yeah I wish I would have read and watched this before hand. I was very disappointed that they only had 3 vegan options, well they only had 2 because 1 was out of stock and I had to put in all my info prior to even seeing what I could order. I'm really only getting this because the cafeteria at work has absolutely zero options for vegans/vegetarians.

    Thank you! I’ve been using Purple carrot but wanted to try Factor.

    I am not vegan. And I've been thinking of trying to go vegan to see how it goes for me. But I have no idea where to start. I was thinking of paying a company to make me vegan meals and see how it goes. Thank you for mentioning purple carrot! I looked into their site and a lot of their meals look tasty!

      If you have the money for it, purple carrot is a GREAT place to start. Their prepared meals are good, but if you have time to cook, I'd recommend trying some of their meal kits. I learned SO MUCH about cooking with vegan ingredients from those kits :)

      They currently have more vegan and veggie options

    Is Purple Carrot ready to pop in the microwave? I just bought Factor to try it out. But as another person already said, you only see the menu options after entering your payment information. Today there were only 2 vegan options. And only 2 vegetarian options. I’ll definitely need to try Purple Carrot.

      I definitely prefer Purple Carrot over Factor. They do have prepared meals that are microwaveable as well as meal kits that you have to cook on the stove. With my subscription they automatically pick 3 meal kits, but I can go into my account and customize the deliveries. They typically have 20-30 options to choose from and you can mix meal kits and prepared meals in your orders. They have lots of packaged snack options you can add on to your order too and everything is vegan :)

    The purple carrot one is different though right?…..like u have to do the cooking?

      Purple Carrot started with only offering ingredient kits that you have to cook, but a couple of years ago they added pre-made options. Lately they've been offering 16 different options for each, so 32 total. I can go into my account and choose only meal kits, only pre-made, or I can do a mix. For my subscription, I just have to do a minimum order of $50 (on the weeks that I decide to order, I can skip weeks if I want to with no penalty). I really like the flexibility of having the different options. I prefer the ingredient kits because they're fresh and taste better, but for weeks that I don't have time to cook, I can do the prepared meals, or just skip the order altogether. I really have no complaints about purple carrot. I've been using them for a few years and the experience has only gotten better.

    I would feel guilty about the horrible amount of packaging waste and carbon footprint of individual delivery ....

    I have been using purple carrot and my 2nd box was the surprise disaster box. 2 meal containers came bloated like balloon. Clear sign of spoilage. 2 containers were leaking and one had a hair sticking on top plastic film. First box had no issues at all and I was going to order every week. Now third box is coming and after seeing that hair I really dont want any purple carrot meals. Probably going straight to dumpster. Its like food is good but packing team is on revenge with the company.
    I do not recommend purple carrot to anybody. I have trifecta and factor boxes coming. Hope they are better.

      Oh man... Good to know! I hadn't had that experience, but I also haven't ordered from them in awhile. I have one of their meal kits coming next week and was planning to start getting orders weekly again. If I have any issues, I'll definitely do an update!

      @@PlantFitLeah I am also thinking of trying their meal kits now. Reading reviews it looks like they are much better quality than prepared meals. I also like their variety. I am using Hello fresh now and getting bored of it after 2 months. Time to give purple another chance

    • @PlantFitLeah

      @@TonyStark-st2ev Yeah, they always have a TON of different options to choose from every week. The meal kits taste way better than the prepared meals (imo) and the servings that come out are often bigger. It's just more time consuming to cook, but if you're already doing Hello Fresh, that shouldn't be a big deal for you :) Not sure how the quality compares to Hello Fresh though.. PC is the only service I've tried so I don't have anything to reference it to, but it's been better than food I'd get at most restaurants.

    Only 3 choices, that’s almost insulting… I’m so tired of vegan options being trash

    • @PlantFitLeah
      @PlantFitLeah  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I mean, I get that some families may only have one vegan member so I guess it's good that they have SOME options for those situations. I may try out a few other meal companies, just to see what they offer, but I doubt any of them will beat an all plant-based brand like Purple Carrot.

    People just love to hear their own voice. A SEVEN min long video which doesn't even bother to show the actual dishes or how they look etc. I was interested in finding out what sort of vegan/veggie options they have and I wasted 7 mins of my life on this video. Sigh

    • @PlantFitLeah
      @PlantFitLeah  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry. I have another video where I go into more detail, but it’s even longer so you probably won’t want to waste your time watching. If you want a TLDR on their veg options, forget Factor and go with Purple Carrot. Factor only has a couple of options, but all of Purple Carrot’s options are plant based and taste better. Hope this helps!

      I thought the exact same thing and when she did finally show the nutrition fact she had her thumb over most of them the entire time. I ended up here after a search to find info on the menu. Not this. On to the next video
