just imagine how terrifying knights would've actually been to these factions, like, both samurai/feudal Japan and vikings were known for using bladed weapons like the spear and katana, or the axe and shortsword, and neither were especially known for their armour, with the japanese not having the metal quality, hence the blades being folded so much, and wearing mostly leather and/or wood, and the vikings living in a country where it was too fucking cold to wear anything but furs, and maybe a helmet at most so to go up against a tanky, more often than not, mountain of a man wearing heavy plate armour that blades cant actually physically pierce, hence knights in history actually using hammers and maces for blunt force as opposed to the popularized longsword done by hollywood, wouldve been terrifying, because right in front of you is a steel monster that just wont die swinging a hammer the same size as you right at your chest
