My mom stole my money. I was so hurt, I called the police and filed a report. They made her pay it back or have theft on her records. She paid it back, and I never ever trusted her with my money.
I mean let's be honest, If all parents and siblings are scums of the earth then there will be a lot more stories like these, most households are ok or normal, for example me and my 3 siblings live together and have great sibling bonds, these videos won't take place in an ideal home space
You know what's Killing me is that this money is something op was saving, it's not something the parent left in an account for them, no op work for it yet let them steal it without even doing anything about it. Definition of a doormat
@MrallwaysCAP Even if you have a good relationship with your siblings, would you give them access to your bank account or put your money in theirs? I have a good relationship with my parents and siblings and would still never do that.
@@DarkEinherjar well, we indeed do, like our bonds are harder than steel like with that we have been through we only have our selves....ok the more I think about it, I think our family is CRAZY f*kd up like father grabbed milk when I was 6, mother got pregnant by a MARIED MAN OF 4 KIDS, and gave birth to my half sister, then mother passed away after 2 months of giving birth, and we barely won the custodyy battle, seed finder dad came back then upgraded his tactics and disappeared without a trace for the last 2 years😭, mother was a succesfull enerprenuer and we lost her assets due to circumstances after her passing ( I'm not aware or don't remember) and neither dad's pay child support, like it's a miracle I live a privileged life, and with all that, we have crazy strong bonds and my aunt and grandmother( mother's side, dad's side relatives are even better at grabing milk and I haven't seen any of them in my entire life ) are raising us with the help of some distant relatives and the grace of god, damn this was a rant
I feel for the OP; my mom tried to control my finances so I couldn’t go to college. The reason why because to keep me in poverty and pay the bills. When my dad died, I had inherited money and she stole it because “my dad is a deadbeat and never paid child support”. I was going to use it for college but she wants to use to a house; moral of the story is if you have a chance to get an higher education, do it.
Dad: We need to stand as a family OP: WE'RE NOT FAMILY. Honestly, that would've been the best response to all the fiasco. Like, 2 years of no contact after what had happened, no sorry, not even how are you doing for all those years? Yeah, no, they're not family at all.
Even the older sister knew her parents were doormats 😂 This is why people need a strong parental figure in their life to put them in the right path. OP had her sister as a cautionary tale but the older sister had NOBODY to tell her whats right and wrong. Blinded favortism leads to this folks, an adult with 0 emotional matury who simply acts on impulse.
Why weren't the parents sued for theft. If the parents are going to rent out the apartment they should use some of it to pay OP back for stealing from her.
Unfortunately it probably isn't worth it, civil court is very expensive to undertake and even if you win the likelihood that you'll get back even a fraction of the funds you're owed is a crapshoot.
Sperm and egg donors: "YOU HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SISTER'S CHILD EVEN THOUGH WE STOLE YOUR COLLEGE FUND MONEY FOR HER SAKE!!! DO IT FOR DAN-- I MEAN, CAROLINE!!!"

I don't like how op just let them STEAL their money like WTH Edit: hey Telltales, i'm pretty sure 99% of us would like it if you went on other sub reddit instead of just AITAH . Btw op is the most doormat of all op in channel
Without a written agreement, OP would have no leg to stand on in a potential lawsuit, and she probably didn't have money to pursue legal action anyway, being on a part-time job to survive while paying for college. OP was also conditioned to be a doormat. That's the basis of golden child/scapegoat child dynamics, and once the scapegoat child is no longer there, the dynamics fall apart.
Even if she did, I doubt she'd win. Her money wasn't in her own account, it was deposited in her mom's. She'd have no legal grounds to sue for it, even if she was on the account too.
For those in a similar situation: Step 1. Ask for their proposal to be written on paper or video recorded. Step 2. Respond saying no. Step 3. Either it's resolved or you notify the police about theft. Step 4. The other person either returns the money or they get a criminal record. Step 5. Cut contact, that person is not your family or your friend. Bye bye
Excuse me? After stealing my money and giving it to my golden child sister, my parents now want me to give up college to help them find my sister and raise her child. AITA for not going back? In what universe could you POSSIBLY be TA here…?
If I was Op, I wouldn't forgive the parents at all as It is clear they have a favourite child who messed up her life, was rewarded for bad behaviour and later in life turned as a drug addict and abandoned her responsibilities as a mother and dumped her son with Ops parents. And Ops parents expected Op to take care of her sisters child, I wouldn't do it as the parents are to blame for raising a spoiled bratty child and ignoring the other.
If any of my parents ever did something to money I EARNED without my permission, I would rather see them in court than to suck it up and hand that over.
If i was OP as soon as the parents started talking about giving MY MONEY that i earned, not was given but actually worked hard for, i would tell them "either you give me my money volunteerily, every penny of it, or i will take it by force and sue you. You are not giving my money to my deadbeat irresponsible sister that will just waste it and make me and most likely you 2 out of pocket, AGAIN!!!" If OP had been keeping a detailed log of the deposits he can use that coupled with the parents bank statement to prove the money is his.
You should have told your parents something along the lines of “ Are you crazy? Do you honestly expect me to drop out of college and get a low paying job spending the rest of my life struggling financially just so you can’t be bothered taking care of your grandchild until I can graduate and get a decent job ?”
OP seems to be an idiot. • The parents clearly were only upset out of • Caroline is a adult. If she wants to go no contact, its her decision. I don’t get it; when I was born, my grandmother opened a savings account in my name. It was set up in a way that I had very limited access to it when I got 15 and full at 18. Nobody else could take money out, only put money in.
I don't want to be an ass, but OP should have seen it coming > I trusted her > *tells how mom treated her brat of a sister* Never give your hard earned money to such parents
Yeah this happen to me except totally different im still a teen living w my parents in high school w my older sister we work n have summer jobs we got our cards in 8th n 9th grade we both had about a thousand n one had around 2 thousand we trusted our parents w our cards but we started asking for our cards after i came into high school during my freshman year as many teens were in control of their cards so we kept asking until a few months my mom had told us we had no money on our cards bc they used it for bills n we saved a lot of money this summer break idk but my parents were secretly taking my momey in which i thought i hid it well n it was 1000 in cash but apparently they our slowly going to return it back to us in our cards our dad didnt want us to know but our mom told us also during a driving school they asked for 250 dollars each but we thought they covered everything n they did they used it to pay for bills tho so trust no one guys i still have no control on my card.
So instead of going to counseling and teach herself how to be responsible once she reached adulthood she just gave up but not before having a kid. Their parents are still coddling oop sister at the expense of oop.
I have never understood why USA has the child banking rules they do. Seems set up for children in abusive homes to financially abused. Very glad that we can open our own account without any parental input at age 14 in Australia. As the legal age for part time work without a special licen e is 15, kids have full control of their earnings and this couldn't happen.
It's not your fault it's your parents fault because they took his college fund for their sister's future and they decided to kick him out of the house because to turn his bedroom into a nursery for their sister's son and they wanted him to drop out of college to take care of her sister's son and that's not right and they should pay for their actions and go to hell for what they have done to him and if you guys can't see that then you guys are delusional and they don't deserve anything for taking his college fund for their sister's future and decided to kick him out of the house because to turn his bedroom into a nursery for their daughter's baby and they wanted him to drop out of college to take care of their daughter's baby and you don't have to apologize for anything it's their fault not yours.
Because that would require sperm and egg donors to not be narcissists and take accountability for their actions. And if you think about it, depending on what drugs they were using there, the apartment is probably not in a livable condition and would cost a lot of money to be properly cleaned. If OP got the apartment, she would have to be the one paying for that.
Ik but she should have gone NC after going to college and had no reason to return back to check see the situation of her family when they never treated her as one in the first place , also obviously her parents won't abandon their GOLDEN CHILD's son ..
