Norm was exceptionally smart - graduated HS @ 14. Once, he let the cat out of the bag that people don't like when someone is smarter than them... hence his entire act. But really, he was well-read and could probably write serious papers about a number of topics much better than most. His serious description about his bout with gambling addiction was chilling. Just a few sentences and let me know a bit about how it happens. Well anyway, he had an idea of what was funny, and he went with it no matter what the audience thought. He knew some would get it, and that was his audience. As for when he intentionally wasted the time of the audience, basically being an IRL troll before internet trolling was a thing, one has to wonder: If a person is watching a man waste the time of an audience, is it then a waste of time to observe that? I don't think so. The meta can be hilarious on its own, which is why so many people troll. Some see that and adore it, others just find it unfunny. He did real jokes too like in that Me Doing Stand-Up special he released. No timewasters there. RIP. Is my favorite comedian so far.
This is a GOOD one. Some of these are really hard to find on TH-cam.
Thanks for publishing these. Miss Norm, a true legend.
Norm found being funny to himself while simultaneously not being funny to the audience to be the best joke.
