  • Was excited after seeing all the amazing videos on TH-cam for this incredible rodent killer So I purchased 2 A24's .
so after 2 kills it stopped working. So I figured I Reach out to the manufacturer and they would resolve it I must have written over a dozen emails to them and posted numerous Inquiries on their Facebook page and never one email or response was returned so essentially I spent close to $600 for 2 mouse traps when I could have gone to home depot and picked up 99 cent glue traps that would have worked the same.
I Will tell you this do your research before buying this crap any questions feel free to reach out to me and good nature if you watching can you kindly explain why you don't return any emails????

I bought one of the larger squirrel / rat versions for a friend who couldn't get it in his jurisdiction at the time. I tested it first, and it worked perfectly. I sent it to him and he is delighted with it, having noticed it has killed several squirrels and he's experienced a dramatic reduction in squirrels and property damage. They appear to me to be extremely well-made, and several clues in your video suggest to me the problem may be user error.

If you are not using the good-nature c02 canisters that could be the reason the ones they provide has a lubricant that keeps the piston from freezing up.

    • @chrisgraham140

Also if you use a different brand c02 canister it voids the warranty.

Nope does not matter CO2 is CO2 good-natured just adds a sticker to a generic CO2 cartridge a whole bunch of Licensing would go into insuring a business when it comes to combustible matter plus I'm not one who is impressed with brand labels I rarely go to a butcher or to a grocery store everything I kill I eat I know most people go to the deli and buy cured ham I have no idea what they're eating I slaughtered hundreds of wild boar I have made the most amazing prosciutto and sausages

My friend has gotten 14 rats. Another got 5.
Id reccommend only using the gas they supply. I think its a great trap. Its the only one that has worked for me. The rats wont go near anything else.

I love my A-24 Goodnature. I don't care what anybody says, there's a learning curve to trapping. Took me forever then whammo, I now call the three I have killing machines. One must learn their vermin as much of a pain that is but I have a borescope I use on my stand alone office in the garage I got the ladder, put the long camera underneath the insulation and on the screen of the scope was a rat staring me in the face. Actually staring the camera in the face as I was holding the screen while stationary on the ladder. They hide in, under insulation. My rats are the Norway rats, the males up here are huge. They actually call their rats coal mine rats and they consider them their friends. They don't bother these people, I get bothered when they're chewing my wires. Dying in a fire is not on my bucket list. My mix is ground beef, jelly, peanut butter and birdseed. This year was a never ending battle, still questioning if I have a vent pipe broken but I have contractors out constantly for this old house. If I'm not busting my hump myself the contractors are. Contractors just removed an old cast iron sink that there was no way I could move even with help. I work with another woman and she is a beast. Can move railroad ties. Huge railroad ties. She climbs my roof because I have a bad hip. Mostly I'm the masonry go to. I came up here to retire and have never worked this hard in my entire life. My point, their other hiding place was behind the back splash of this mid century cast iron sink, gnawing at the wood. No wonder I couldn't find every hiding place. Stealthy vermin, they are. My wifi doesn't work on it though, found that out when looking down the barrel and blood was all in the bait. They must have been canabalizing the dead ones and dragging them off. As long as I don't smell 'em or have flymaggedon. I don't care what they do to each other. I know they have gone off multiple times because my little cat is afraid of the noise. I move my traps, I have to as these vermin are neophobic. Waiting for results on my old huge drain line. Again, I gotta climb. I keep looking for carcasses and none. Yet, the blood is the telltale sign. Some people have said it's a bloodless death. Yeah, ok.

Cannot agree with the writer of this review. I purchased the trap about 4 years ago and it has performed faultlessly. Catching a rat takes sometimes time a perseverance.
I no longer attach the trap permanently in one spot. I attach to a piece of wood and move it . I no longer place it in a vertical position but horizontal against the wall. The entrance is in the face of the rat and he can see into the chamber. I get rid of the bait container supplied and load the black cover with peanut butter and seed. As it is horizontal it remains in place. I also carefully !! put a nut or peanut butter just under the trigger mechanism with a smear on the tunnel entrance. The rat does not have to stretch up to get at the bait and the bait just under the trigger mechanism always remains in place. Works beautifully. It make take some time but eventually he will be tempted.
If you bait the trap as above BEFORE you put the gas cylinder in you can fine tune perfectly.

If you hear hissing you should've just said that in the video, the problem is not the piston it's the SEAL. I've had the same problem with CO2 bb guns. The fix is simple you need a new o-ring to stop the CO2 from leaking out. Update on Goodnature A24 rat trap as of 4/4/2023. Know your rodent! Know what they are attracted to bait wise. I started off using Goodnature's baits, wrong first step. I was getting nothing for months. So, I decided to make my own bait with a mixture of what I thought they would be attracted to, I took some cheese type cloth and added ground beef, cherry jelly and bird seed. My basement/garage has been unusually quiet the last few nights. Why??? No gnawing sounds, no jumping, nothing. Something was up. My traps are on top of an 8' stand alone office close to the exposed ceiling with insulation. Yuck. I purchased the wi fi traps that register kills. Well, in my house nothing registers. Which is a shame but I can deal with that. So, I decide to get the ladder and pull down the traps. I cannot see if there are any dead rodents and tonight I'm just not in the mood to go carcass hunting. I bring down the traps and notice blood dripping off the kill bar. Gross but whatever. I am thrilled that I now know how to hunt what I believe are sewer rats. I noticed awhile ago what looked like blood but I thought Goodnature's baits had discolored. Lol. That is a no, that was another kill. So, after I decided to get off my dead butt and hunt properly. I got 'em!!! These traps are excellent when you know your rat or mouse or squirrel or whatever. I did it through trial and error. To sum it up, I don't know how great their wi fi traps are as they don't register in my house. For the first time in ages my basement in so quiet it's like a morgue. Lol. Keep testing baits through trial to see what your rodents are attracted to. Something really tasty. Use caution loading your bait from the top, the kill bar will go off. I can't imagine that pain. Take the fabric add your bait and carefully load from the top. Use a large craft stick to put it into the top chamber. Keep your fingers away!!! I cannot stress this enough.
These things work and work extremely well. My buddy who is well known on YT (you probably don't know him) he's local to me. Bee Keeper said they work and I believed him. I just can't believe I changed the bait and trapped this monster in a few days maybe quicker than that since I can't get my traps to register. Happy hunting! Tomorrow I go carcass hunting. I sprayed and disinfected tonight. Oh peace and quiet. Now to fix the uneven garage door once and for all. ~Mountain Girl

Well, obviously there is some kind of malfunction with the retractor mechanism (spring??). Why not contact the manufacturer and ask for satisfaction in a replacement? It is in their interest to oblige you and learn about what may have gone wrong. Not worry, though. China will have an imitation soon enough since they don't respect people's intellectual property. Then you can buy 5 for the same amount of money, and hopefully (cheaply as they will be built), perhaps one will work!

I've had mine for two and a half years and to date it's not killed a rat nor even a mouse! I've contacted them numerous times and whilst they respond it's the "same old same old" reply. They tell me the fault is where I've sited it or that if it's registered a kill but there's no body that the body was scavenged. This despite the fact tat its in an enclosed area! I'll take the A24 away and replace with snap traps (costing a dollar or two) and get results!! Put the A24 back, nothing! Replace with snap trap again dead rats!! I reiterate over the years I've spent heaps with no results at all. They've got a very good PR profile for a product that's a complete waste of time and money!

They have a liberal return policy. The farmer, bee keeper I know who I follow on YT who is a brilliant hunter, farmer, builder has reviewed this system and has back up units in case things get out of hand with an infestation swears by the system. Since this unit was designed in New Zealand and every few years they are literally attacked by thousands upon thousands of rats, mice I'll go with this system. Has anyone tried bolting this bad boy down and then removing the trap if there is no activity. Rat trapping is not a passive exercise program. You have to work to catch these smart suckers. It's exhausting. Ask me how I know. I just bought three, they are not expensive I don't know where this came from and why I have heard this multiple times but maybe it's just me. I know rewiring a house is expensive, I know a house burning down is expensive. So, I don't get that statement.

@@doloresm7396 I stand by everything I've said. I had one and monitored its use for over two years and never once did it kill a rat. Over that time the "Chirp" or whatever it's called told my phone it had killed 17 but never a body seen. "Scavenged" they said despite the fact that where i had it this couldn't happen! In fact on one occasion I was on my phone when a notification of a kill came in. By chance I could actually see the trap and not a rat in sight. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like but I'd put money on the fact that Goodnature can remotely activate the Chirp and lead you to believe theres been a kill. I'd say as well that the TH-cam videos showing kill after kill are actually staged! During the same period I had the A24 and got nothing I killed 50+ rats with cheap snap traps. Believe me the A24 is rubbish and a con! The only thing Goodnature have going for them is good PR and marketing!

I'm very surprised by this writer's review. I've purchased a few of these for myself and friends and they have all worked fine. Why did you spend so much on them, they are less than $200.00 on Amazon? So I have to ask, is it not working or do you have the trap positioned in the wrong place? Did you use the baits provided to find out where the rats are before you set the traps? I've found places where I've killed dozens of rats and mice and other places where no rodents showed up at all - location is everything. The syringe you are using to trip the wire is too thick and its getting stuck because it collapses and traps the piston before the piston is all the way out - use something thinner to trip it like a 1/4" dowel or popsicle stick that won't trap the plunger. I agree with other peoples reviews, I think the problem is mostly operator's errors.

Where did you get the price of 2 for $600? Mine cost $185, including tax. Also, when you use a different CO2 cartridge you can't say that the trap doesn't work. It may be your substitute cartridge. The hissing sound means the cartridge leaks. I wish I could give your misleading video more than 1 thumbs down.

I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $230 which included the counter ( $189 would have been without the counter ). I know prices vary worldwide and whether it is $189 or $300 , it is very expensive for a rat trap and at these prices I would expect them to work mechanically and also for the company to stand behind them. Time will tell and if's it's a scam operation, word will get out fast enough.

I've already killed ~300 rodents now. DONT WASTE $ and time/energy buy other 99% products, only trust honest, smart inventor/engineer/designer we :)! Hope this helps!

    • @KelikakuCoutin
      @KelikakuCoutin 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

A snap trap only works once per time it's set, and the 'A24' can kill up to 24 times, per charge. The trap resets after every kill and the cylinder is good for up to 24 explosions. So that works out to about $8.30 per kill (if you never reload the CO2 cylinder). Even then, if a snap trap is only $3-5 that's still more expensive, but snap traps aren't 100% kill rate, they're supposedly under 50% kill rate, when the A24 is 100% kill rate. That is how they justify the price I guess.
