If anyone wants a list of the "comically named" items for Minder, I have one me and my friend put together back in the 90s. It lists all the starting prices for each item so you can try and get the best prices. I can send it as a PDF.
My brother and I used to type f off into the prompt box at the dealers in minder and they used to punch you. We thought they were throwing a teapot at us initially. But that was the limitations of the speccy visuals. I think we spent hours doing that🤣
Great video as always Paul. Didn't know there were so many versions of Tempest on the Speccy but yeah the official version is undoubtedly the best. Looking forward to seeing what the next episode brings as they always tend to be something different

Wycheweald looks awesome. A bit too pricey for me though. The software crashes you experienced could be down to some variables being the wrong value when you saved the program to disc. (?) Another winning episode, Paul. But where was Jeff ?
I noticed that too, couldn't place the music for a moment then realised it was Phoenix by Taito, not played Pheenix but I'm thinking it's clone of the arcade original.
So, how much would running a business with a Spectrum have cost back in the day? Computer, keyboard, microdrive, printer, different software programs... You would have to sell quite a few tapes to make it worth it, I guess.
@@Lbf5677 The disk interfaces (such as the +D used in this video) tended to be much more reliable than tapes. You'd still need to keep backup disks of your data - but you'd doing that in a business environment anyway.

Paul, I wonder would you consider doing some AGD or AGDX tutorials as part of future TSS episodes? I'm sure I'm not the only person who keeps loading it and then giving up two hours later. I am aware of your early agd platform videos but I'm thinking you could do something different than the typical platform games? Maybe something to consider?
TH-cam force these in. I am not getting anything for them. My channel is NOT monetised. This is purely YT forcing ads into videos. Been doing it since last September. There is a note on my website about it. Nothing I can do sadly. I hate this as much as anyone!
@@BuckingTheTrend2008 This is appalling that TH-cam are doing this. I could tolerate the ad at the start, but having so many breaks in the actual programme is infuriating. TH-cam aren't doing themselves any favours.

@@robm8809 I've watched a couple of recent uploads on other channels, and they're just as bad. It's becoming intolerable now, TH-cam seem to want to drive people away. If there's a good alternative it would be a good thing.
I have feeling that autor made heavy focus only on the early zx era games(1983-1984). Mostly they are all bad with terrible graphics. There are so many gems in the late zx era (1989-1991) it is mystery why they never got attention in this show

IMO the speccy does the best vector graphics of 'all' tbe 80s 8 bit machines (consoles included) ... with perhaps the exception of the Vectex.
Wait, there is a Benny Hill game? I have to look that up. Didn't have a Speccy on this side of the pond, but we did get to see Benny Hill.
I think the average small business owner faced with that database would blow the dust off his old ledger and sharpen his pencil.

You'd have to print everything out and store it all in filing cabinets due to the unreliability of tapes and everything else

I rather liked G-Force back in the day. It was a clever way to make a colourful Tempest by unwrapping the tube.

Does anyone do modern demos of speech on the Spectrum?
I always see new graphics and music demos, but I have never seen a speech one.
