Brilliant video, I am going next month. Can I ask what company you did the snowmobiles with? Also I read the tours won’t go to Barenrburg but I really want to visit there.
Hi Jan, thank you so much! And lucky you, I'd go back in a heartbeat, for sure! We used hurtigrutensvalbard.com for the snowmobile adventure. The ongoing war in Ukraine is the reason behind no trips to Barentsburg, but I am sure they have other great adventures and places to see. The nature itself is worth seeing, so you won't be disappointed, I am sure😊
Going in June 2023 to photo polar bears. Can't wait! I've been to Antarctica and can't wait to visit the northern artic. So exotic and exciting! Thanks for the video - too cold for me in February!
Then you have a great trip to look forward to! I would like to experience the summer months at Svalbard too sometime. I hope you will have a wonderful time there 😊
Hi Lloyd, do you have a plan how to find polar bears which you can catch for photos? In june there is on svalbard no season for snowmobiles and I think it is not possible to get in polar bear area or have you booked a boat trip to the high north or better east coast?
@argonk No, I can't remember that being an issue. The snow scooters were pretty new and ran without problems. Or I was too occupied taking in the nature to not notice it 😍
It's the dining for me, and the coal mines as I was an underground hard rock miner in my career, also the isolation...thankyou, I really enjoyed this great video!
I camped near the airport, not at the camping ground for 18 days in 1992 before the ship came to return to Tromso. An adventure. Greeting from Australia 🇦🇺.
Fantastic video! I'll be going in February! What did you shoot this video on? I've heard that it might be difficult to get your phone to work in some of these conditions.
@MaxArthey Thank you so much! And what an excellent month to travel to Svalbard! It really is a beautiful time of the year. I actually shoot this on my mobile phone at the time. I would not rely on cell coverage outside the city. Then I would go for proper GPS communication. The issue I had with filming was battery life due to the cold 😆 I wish you a really great trip!
Thank you! We saw the sun just peaking over the horizon, when we rode into Barentsburg (which was amazing). If you have the time, I'd stay for longer, to see more and get more time exploring! Absolutely worth it 😊
@@ferhatgumus6603 Hi Ferhat, thank you for your comment! Unfortunately I don't know a procedure, but I think the first step is to find a job opening and apply for it. Good luck 😊

Do you smell the exhaust from the snow scooters ahead?
