I am a prospective PA student that hopes to make a positive impact in the kind of medicine that is provided to traditional Native American communities. My focus will be bridging gaps between traditional and Western medicine. From personal experience, we need both. This really hits home for me.
I found this video very interesting. I am a firm believer in the fact that medical schools understand that they want to produce successful doctors, not just people who are good at getting good grades. There is much more to being a successful Doctor that getting good grades.
Trust me that is beyond rehearsed. You can see at 3:20 when he was done telling the story he forgot some of the points he missed so he backtracked. He is using the same techniques that are in the dating book The Game by Neil Strauss.

Too many humble brags which is off putting. 3:20 he backhanded insults everyone with that story without people noticing. He was great at story telling, but when he went off the cuff he lacked substance. Really really good job, but this is what people who are bad at interviews should do. Develop stories to take up the time and answer ?s.
I am 17, I have a 28 on my ACT and a 4.3 GPA going to UF for nursing. I am assured I can succeed in undergrad but I am extremely terrified to go into medical school and I may just get a doctorate in nursing. Any advice?
PGL ForZa If you want to be a physician, get out of the nursing program and get a degree in a hard science. You'll want to do very well on the MCAT and be active in your community with leadership roles and extracurricular activities. Medical school is not for the faint of heart, and to succeed, you need to put every bit of your passion and energy into it. If you want to play it safe, be a nurse.
PGL ForZa It really depends on you impetus. What do you want to do with your life and why? That question must be answered first and foremost before you make a mistake that you could regret for the rest of your life.
I definitely agree with Andrew that you need a lot of passion and energy if you want to pursue the med school track, but you definitely do not need to major in a hard science degree. As long as you do the premed course work, major in something you actually find interesting. i majored in public health and i definitely enjoyed my time as an undergrad even more
Samuel Kebede I agree. However, I never actually said that a hard science major was a "need" for medical school. I do think that having completed a more rigorous undergraduate major made me better equipped to handle the amount of work that medical school is. My statement about the hard sciences is just a strong suggestion, but certainly not a hard and fast rule. Thanks for pointing that out.

One then wonders whether such carelessness extends or will extend to other areas where precision are demanded. At least that was my opinion when I interviewed applicants. If an applicant wanted to impress me, he sat up, made eye contact, expressed well-organized thoughts in grammatically correct English and knew why he was applying to our school in particular. In return, I honored him by not asking stupid questions like, "Why do you want to become a physician?"
1) If your too young then you clearly wouldn't be going into medicine right now and 2) If you're too young to the point where you shouldn't be on youtube I don't think you should even go into medicine cause I sure wouldn't trust someone who can't follow the basics.

If it's not able to be done because of actual laws and information/knowledge then it goes without saying that you aren't able to start. No one was going, "Well why don't you just go and slice and dice someone now?!"
my advice do not believe fully in the research and must learn to have your independent thinking and take every thing with grain of salt....guess what...I am retired chemist, nutritionist, drug designer, toxicologist,...etc I have found solution to cancers but refuse to patent or publish it.... afraid people abuse it...
