Nothing beats "It's Okay That's Love" as the most relevant kdrama touching mental health issues. "It's Okay Not to be Okay" is good in its own right but IOTL was written intricately and portrayed well anxiety disorder, tic douloureux, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia and most especially on how physicians themselves have mental health issues they need to address and overcome despite being the ones who tend to the sick. This kdrama is a masterpiece. I didn't know then Jongdae sang this OST. Listening to this now has a different feel...
He's not underrated by Sm (he gets solo songs and is one of the main vocalists and gets a good amount of lines) but it's everyone else who doesn't appreciate him
His voice is magical ♥ 💕 💞. Sometimes I get jealous how great his vocals are like how he put so much emotions and every note strikes directly into the soul. He's OST kinG .

When i first watched this drama (which became my FAVOURITE DRAMA EVER) i didn't know about kyungsoo or Chen, i do knew Exo but only by name and some songs like overdose, that i didn't used to like very much. And i didn't knew kyungsoo was a kpop singer, but i found his acting so good, he moved me in a way....And then I heard this beautfiful song and in so much scenes in the drama, this song, this beautiful voice and kyungsoo acting made me cry, melted my heart....Then here we are, few months later and i fall on a interview by exo on my timeline, and discover all the others amazing boys, and then i watched like 20 videos (interviems, MV, BTS...) about them, starting to check on them on the internet, for knowing more about them, trying to reconigze each of them...and fall on this video : Monster (aka perfection). I mean the only other kpop artists that i love this much are Akdong. I think i've become a Exo-L...

this mv always has me in smiles, beautiful song and beautiful drama! such a pity that it's okay it's love did not get the awards it deserved, this was honestly one of the best, and if not, the best drama of 2014. sbs drama awards was basically just for you who came from the stars, and tbh i don't even like that drama that much. gong hyojin and jo insung deserved greater awards :-( but seriously, look at this boy, his little earring and the way he holds his hands in the beginning, jongdae always melts me like that ♡
Ok I agree that maybe this drama did not get the recognition it deserved but c'mon u who came from the stars, u could tell that the production is a lot bigger, story is well written n the cast is perfect.. It's ok it's love killed it too.. I love both dramas but You Who Came From the Stars has a special part in my hear because it's the first korean drama I watched. And yup chen melts my heart everytime I hear his voice in this song.. The emotion he carries in his voice is crazy.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. For someone who's been watching kdrama regularly, the plot of "you who came from the stars" isn't really that astonishing. Maybe the most special part of it is the concept of Alien, and the casting of two mega-stars. Personally, I don't feel connected to the "handsome-all-perfect" kind of male leading actor... For me it's just another kind of cheezy romantic love story. But "It's ok it's love" brought up deeper and more meaningful aspects, and raises awareness. I think people don't only entertain themselves by watching this drama, they'll actually learn something.
J.Q. W. Me too. I never got into yhcfts like I did this drama. I probably think it was more well written and much more realistic relationship (because an alien is so realistic. I know. Lol). And, slightly off topic, all the kisses in this drama were like real kisses. This is one of my favorite dramas and I just love it
I absolutely love this drama. It was so different to other Korean dramas. I would have never thought they would tackle mental illness this way, some dramas just pass on the idea like "yeah, she's depressed, that's why she did such and such". But its okay that's love is one of the first k dramas I have watched that show that mental illness only defines a small portion of someone. That it does not necessarily mean they are crazy, abusive or socially awkward. That they are people. I really hope that this drama teaches people about mental illness not just depression (that is commonly mentioned in the media) but tourettres, schizophrenia or inspire them to look up other mental illnesses. I loved all the actors, they played they're role so well.

THIS. The thing that a lot of fans don't understand is that, yes, he gets a lot of lines in Exo songs, and most if not all the powerful long notes and high notes, but what that means it's that it's a lot of the same type of parts that he is singing. We don't really get to hear a lot of his softer, or gentle, or lower range singing, because those parts are sung by D.O or Luhan. So I'm really thankful that he was given the opportunity to sing this solo song because we are able to hear more of his vocal color (and in SM the Ballad too). I mean, just look at all the comments thinking that there's a certain part that's sung by D.O, just because they don't recognize Chen's lower range vocals because they haven't heard them before (unless they are Chen stans who have listened to his solo or duet covers and can recognize his lower/deeper vocals).
EXACLTY! I feel like with SO many Kpop girl and boy bands, you only hear them sing in one range so it's hard to tell if they actually can sing different ranges. I never even knew some of the SNSD girls had so much talent until I listened to their solos. Chen really deserves more recognition, because his voice is heavenly.

이 드라마는 본적 없고 누가 불렀는지도 모르고 노래만 알고 있었음. 오늘 퇴근하고 쇼파에 누워서 좀 쉬려는데 갑자기 머리속에서 'OO하는 그대 내게 운명이죠' 하고 멜로디가 울리는(?) 거임. 노래가 뭐였더라 생각은 안나고.. 결국 궁금증 참지 못하고 구글링해서 들으러 옴. 피곤해서 얼른 누워서 쉬고 싶은 때에 왜 이게 갑자기 생각난건지 의문임.
Honestly, Chen deserves a lot more recognition. He deserves the world, actually. He's always so underrated and it infuriates me. Now prepare yourself because I'm gonna rant a freaking lot because this precious human is just so underrated. Let's list most of his aspects deserving to be fangirled about, shall we? 1.) AN UNDERRATED VISUAL: Jongdae often gets pushed to the side in case of visuals among so many members who're gorgeous themselves. Most of exo-l' notice Baekhyun's simultaneous cuteness and hotness, Kyungsoo's voice and acting, Suho's charm and endearing awkward sides, Xiumin's cute and sexy af sides, Kai's sexiness and shyness, Sehun's booty and just plain boldness, Chanyeol's talented and silly self and Yixing's dance and just plain adorably lost behaviour. Somehow in noticing these, they fail to notice Chen or better yet Kim Jongdae. Because while Chen is his stage personality, what we should notice is who Jongdae is. And let me tell you, that guy is all of above qualities wrapped up in one with an unimaginable amount of kindness and gentleness. He's such a beautiful guy with those high cheekbones and kitty smile. He's one of the few kpop idols who can rock all the hairstyles, especially WITHOUT any fringe. 2.) KINDEST EXO MEMBER: Even the members have acknowledged the fact that Jongdae is the kindest member to ever exist. He's often found massaging the neck and shoulders of his members after a particularly tiring concert/practice. They've announced Jongdae as the umma because, and I quote "He takes care of all the members so well". When any EXO member had to attend a concert while being injured, Jongdae has always spent all the time of concert making that member feel included. In EXO's Showtime, during the haunted house incident, he took hot packs to all the staff members who were disguised as ghosts in such cold weather. At the end of the episode he even thanked them. He's the member that has earned himself the nickname of " Fansign boyfriend" because of the unique way he treats his fans by always maintaining eye contact and giving them all a warm smile because he knows how much that moment matters to the fans. 3.) ONE OF THE POLITEST PEOPLE TO EVER GRACE THIS EARTH: Even Kyungsoo has acknowledged the fact that Jongdae is gentle and polite. On every reality show or interview, he always makes sure to thank the staff and his thank you speeches after winning an award always include the line about thanking all the people who've ever helped EXO. He always entertains his group members whenever they ask him to do something. He's always extra polite and kind to MC's and takes all their joking jabs and teasing taunts with a smile on his face. 4.) HIS VOCALS!!!!! : If you know anything about EXO, you'd know that Jongdae is one of the best voices in Kpop industry. His ability to transition between low and high notes, maintaining the fluency and rhythm perfectly makes him so precious to EXO. Not to mention he's a great songwriter. EXO's three songs including 'She's dreaming...' were written by him. 5.) HIS PLAYFUL PERSONALITY: As a member of beagle line, Jongdae has acknowledged that he's much more playful with other members than those out of the beagle line. He tries to keep the mood lighthearted, even on the expense of his pride. He'll gladly be silly in order yo cheer other members right up. Along with Bakehyun, he's the mood maker of the group. 6.) A HARD WORKER: Every EXO member has said that Jongdae isn't a great dancer like Kai or Lay, but still when you watch any of their MV's, you won't be able to believe that fact. Yes, he wasn't born with dance talent but he has worked damn hard and you can literally see that in every dance performance he gives. Even Baekhyun has said that one of the things that changed the most about Jongdae is his dancing. 7.) A MODEST PERSON: No matter how many times he's complimented on his singing skills, he always gets shy and thanks the person sincerely. Whenever members are discussing the best visual or dancer, he's the one to sit quietly on the side and observe them, with a smile on his face. He never seeks attention about his singing skills or looks. On the other hand he compliments all the members on their skills, making sure to encourage and motivate them. 8.) HE'S KIM JONGDAE: All the above things constitute to this fact. The fact that we should never forget is that while Chen is great, with his model looks, angelic voice and sexy dancing; Jongdae is just as precious with his playful comebacks, his adorable whines, and his kindness. Kim Jongdae is one of the best people on this planet who has never been arrogant and always helps charities in his free time. He's the one that always has a smile on his face and will tell his feelings honestly but still make sure to not burden other members with his issues. What I'd like to say to him is that he should always know that he'll always have us. No matter what happens, we'll always support him and although some may forget him in front of other members who are more vocal, there are always people who'll be thankful for him being just him. Thanks a lot for letting us know the beautiful person that Jongdae is.

Unforgettable drama, had one of the best, if not the best OST I've ever heard. It was so different from anything I've seen. Very crazy at times, unorthodox, and some scenes surprising but that plot twist towards the end was incredible, totally unexpected. That opening scene shocked me. The whole cast has such great chemistry. Though there were some things I didn't understand, all in all, it was very unique and heartfelt

Ok I agree that maybe this drama did not get the recognition it deserved but c'mon u who came from the stars, u could tell that the production is a lot bigger, story is well written n the cast is perfect.. It's ok it's love killed it too.. I love both dramas but You Who Came From the Stars has a special part in my hear because it's the first korean drama I watched. And yup chen melts my heart everytime I hear his voice in this song.. The emotion he carries in his voice is crazy.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. For someone who's been watching kdrama regularly, the plot of "you who came from the stars" isn't really that astonishing. Maybe the most special part of it is the concept of Alien, and the casting of two mega-stars. Personally, I don't feel connected to the "handsome-all-perfect" kind of male leading actor... For me it's just another kind of cheezy romantic love story. But "It's ok it's love" brought up deeper and more meaningful aspects, and raises awareness. I think people don't only entertain themselves by watching this drama, they'll actually learn something.

I absolutely love this drama. It was so different to other Korean dramas. I would have never thought they would tackle mental illness this way, some dramas just pass on the idea like "yeah, she's depressed, that's why she did such and such". But its okay that's love is one of the first k dramas I have watched that show that mental illness only defines a small portion of someone. That it does not necessarily mean they are crazy, abusive or socially awkward. That they are people. I really hope that this drama teaches people about mental illness not just depression (that is commonly mentioned in the media) but tourettres, schizophrenia or inspire them to look up other mental illnesses. I loved all the actors, they played they're role so well.

I'm SO glad Chen did this solo, bc when he's singing along with a bunch of other members, you can't fully hone in on his voice and talent. Such a beautiful voice!
THIS. The thing that a lot of fans don't understand is that, yes, he gets a lot of lines in Exo songs, and most if not all the powerful long notes and high notes, but what that means it's that it's a lot of the same type of parts that he is singing. We don't really get to hear a lot of his softer, or gentle, or lower range singing, because those parts are sung by D.O or Luhan. So I'm really thankful that he was given the opportunity to sing this solo song because we are able to hear more of his vocal color (and in SM the Ballad too). I mean, just look at all the comments thinking that there's a certain part that's sung by D.O, just because they don't recognize Chen's lower range vocals because they haven't heard them before (unless they are Chen stans who have listened to his solo or duet covers and can recognize his lower/deeper vocals).
EXACLTY! I feel like with SO many Kpop girl and boy bands, you only hear them sing in one range so it's hard to tell if they actually can sing different ranges. I never even knew some of the SNSD girls had so much talent until I listened to their solos. Chen really deserves more recognition, because his voice is heavenly.

Honestly, Chen deserves a lot more recognition. He deserves the world, actually. He's always so underrated and it infuriates me.
Now prepare yourself because I'm gonna rant a freaking lot because this precious human is just so underrated. Let's list most of his aspects deserving to be fangirled about, shall we?
1.) AN UNDERRATED VISUAL: Jongdae often gets pushed to the side in case of visuals among so many members who're gorgeous themselves. Most of exo-l' notice Baekhyun's simultaneous cuteness and hotness, Kyungsoo's voice and acting, Suho's charm and endearing awkward sides, Xiumin's cute and sexy af sides, Kai's sexiness and shyness, Sehun's booty and just plain boldness, Chanyeol's talented and silly self and Yixing's dance and just plain adorably lost behaviour. Somehow in noticing these, they fail to notice Chen or better yet Kim Jongdae. Because while Chen is his stage personality, what we should notice is who Jongdae is. And let me tell you, that guy is all of above qualities wrapped up in one with an unimaginable amount of kindness and gentleness. He's such a beautiful guy with those high cheekbones and kitty smile. He's one of the few kpop idols who can rock all the hairstyles, especially WITHOUT any fringe.
2.) KINDEST EXO MEMBER:
Even the members have acknowledged the fact that Jongdae is the kindest member to ever exist. He's often found massaging the neck and shoulders of his members after a particularly tiring concert/practice. They've announced Jongdae as the umma because, and I quote "He takes care of all the members so well". When any EXO member had to attend a concert while being injured, Jongdae has always spent all the time of concert making that member feel included. In EXO's Showtime, during the haunted house incident, he took hot packs to all the staff members who were disguised as ghosts in such cold weather. At the end of the episode he even thanked them.
He's the member that has earned himself the nickname of " Fansign boyfriend" because of the unique way he treats his fans by always maintaining eye contact and giving them all a warm smile because he knows how much that moment matters to the fans.
3.) ONE OF THE POLITEST PEOPLE TO EVER GRACE THIS EARTH: Even Kyungsoo has acknowledged the fact that Jongdae is gentle and polite. On every reality show or interview, he always makes sure to thank the staff and his thank you speeches after winning an award always include the line about thanking all the people who've ever helped EXO. He always entertains his group members whenever they ask him to do something. He's always extra polite and kind to MC's and takes all their joking jabs and teasing taunts with a smile on his face.
4.) HIS VOCALS!!!!! : If you know anything about EXO, you'd know that Jongdae is one of the best voices in Kpop industry. His ability to transition between low and high notes, maintaining the fluency and rhythm perfectly makes him so precious to EXO. Not to mention he's a great songwriter. EXO's three songs including 'She's dreaming...' were written by him.
5.) HIS PLAYFUL PERSONALITY: As a member of beagle line, Jongdae has acknowledged that he's much more playful with other members than those out of the beagle line. He tries to keep the mood lighthearted, even on the expense of his pride. He'll gladly be silly in order yo cheer other members right up. Along with Bakehyun, he's the mood maker of the group.
6.) A HARD WORKER: Every EXO member has said that Jongdae isn't a great dancer like Kai or Lay, but still when you watch any of their MV's, you won't be able to believe that fact. Yes, he wasn't born with dance talent but he has worked damn hard and you can literally see that in every dance performance he gives. Even Baekhyun has said that one of the things that changed the most about Jongdae is his dancing.
7.) A MODEST PERSON: No matter how many times he's complimented on his singing skills, he always gets shy and thanks the person sincerely. Whenever members are discussing the best visual or dancer, he's the one to sit quietly on the side and observe them, with a smile on his face. He never seeks attention about his singing skills or looks. On the other hand he compliments all the members on their skills, making sure to encourage and motivate them.
8.) HE'S KIM JONGDAE: All the above things constitute to this fact. The fact that we should never forget is that while Chen is great, with his model looks, angelic voice and sexy dancing; Jongdae is just as precious with his playful comebacks, his adorable whines, and his kindness. Kim Jongdae is one of the best people on this planet who has never been arrogant and always helps charities in his free time. He's the one that always has a smile on his face and will tell his feelings honestly but still make sure to not burden other members with his issues.
What I'd like to say to him is that he should always know that he'll always have us. No matter what happens, we'll always support him and although some may forget him in front of other members who are more vocal, there are always people who'll be thankful for him being just him. Thanks a lot for letting us know the beautiful person that Jongdae is.

Unforgettable drama, had one of the best, if not the best OST I've ever heard. It was so different from anything I've seen. Very crazy at times, unorthodox, and some scenes surprising but that plot twist towards the end was incredible, totally unexpected. That opening scene shocked me. The whole cast has such great chemistry. Though there were some things I didn't understand, all in all, it was very unique and heartfelt
chen looked seriously cool whenever he sang ballads.. he should really have a mini solo album...

I’m a BTS fan but I say I go for Chen when it comes to singing OST...he’s emotionally into it. I find him great. Very good vocals. Hands down to this guy. His songs make me cry. 👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
